‘Spider-Man’ director on whether he will direct superhero movies

Jon Watts gets honest about directing superhero genre

Jon Watts has directed all three Spider-Man movies starring Tom Holland in the Marvel franchise. However, he opted out of helming The Fantastic Four: First Steps, which Matt Shakman directed.

Now, in an interview with Variety, he says he is open to directing the superhero genre again. “I’m open to anything and everything. I’m not limiting myself in that way. I’m most attracted to original ideas.”

He continues, “That’s sort of like the North Star for me — big, original ideas. But there are so many great things already out there that I think you can find a way to make it your own and to make it feel original.”

Elsewhere in the interview, Jon opens up about the clown-related horror genre. “I don’t know. It’s just a very visceral thing. It’s hard to talk about clowns post-John Wayne Gacy, because before that, there wasn’t the same sort of evil attached to a clown.”

“A clown was genuinely a positive thing that people liked. I think it’s the mask. It’s the creepy level of makeup and the strange smile that is just genuinely disturbing. Like, yes, there’s a person under there, but you don’t really know who it is.”

“I think that’s what always sort of creeped me out. But I still like good, positive clowns too. There are people that are genuinely good clowns that entertain people. I don’t want everyone to think that all clowns are scary, so I feel a little bad for being a part of that. I know some really great clowns, and I feel a little bit guilty for making everyone be scared of clowns when all clowns really want to do is bring joy and smiles,” he concludes.

Adam Peaty ‘in tears’ as Holly Ramsay walks down the aisle

Adam Peaty was moved to tears when Holly Ramsay walked down the aisle at their wedding ceremony

Adam Peaty was moved to tears when Holly Ramsay walked down the aisle at their wedding ceremony on December, 27, at Bath Abbey, his close friend and showbiz friend Sara Davies has revealed.

The Olympic swimmer, 30, and his blushing bride, 25, appeared in high spirits as they made a grand exit after their lavish wedding, which reportedly sparked nasty feud and tore Adam’s family apart.

Among the star-studded guest list which includes 200 attendees, was Sir David, 50, his wife, Victoria Beckham, 51, as well as their children, Romeo, 23, Cruz, 20, and Harper, 14.

Dragon’s Den star Sara, 41, was among the celebrity guests, having formed a friendship with Adam when they both appeared on Strictly Come Dancing in 2021.

While Sara has yet to upload any pictures of the couple, she did post a sweet message to Adam on Instagram on Sunday and shared photos of the pair together.

She sweetly said: ‘Yesterday I had the privilege of being at this amazing man’s wedding – and it also gave me a moment to reflect on how lucky I’ve been to have him in my life over the past four years.

‘From the first day we met on Strictly, we’ve been firm friends, and it was a real honour to sit in Bath Abbey and watch him get emotional as the love of his life walked down the aisle.

‘It was such a special day. Simon and I had the best time, the service was beautiful – and I’m sure you’ll not be surprised to hear me say, it was hands down the best wedding food I’ve ever had.

‘Wishing my wonderful friend and his gorgeous bride a lifetime of happiness together.’

She also shared a series of snaps from their Strictly days together.

She posted additional pictures from the ceremony to her Instagram Stories, where she reunited with fellow Strictly star Dan Walker.

She was joined by her husband Simon and wore a blue and black flower patterned dress.

Adam Peaty’s heartbroken mum breaks silence after missing son’s wedding

Adam Peaty’s heartbroken mother seen for first time since son’s wedding

Adam Peaty’s heartbroken mother, Caroline, was seen for the first time since her son married his wife Holly Ramsay without her in attendance.

The couple, who became engaged in September, 12, 2024, said ‘I do’ on December, 27 at Bath Abbey.

After deciding against attending the ceremony uninvited, Caroline was seen visiting her own mother, Mavis, on Sunday.

It comes after Caroline revealed to the DailyMail that she has been left shattered over missing her son’s big day, saying the couple have hurt her deeply.

Caroline looked downcast as she left her family home in Staffordshire, hours after her husband Mark was also seen out and about.

Her appearance came after it was revealed that Mark had been invited to the wedding on one condition: he would have to sit it in the back row.

From Adam’s side, his younger sister Bethany is the only member who believed to have remain close following the family fallout.

Bethany joined Holly’s sisters, Tilly and Megan, as they led the bridal party at the couple’s wedding on Saturday.

A family source told The Sun on Sunday: ‘Frankly, it’s disgusting that it went ahead without Adam reaching out to his mum and dad beforehand.’

The insider continued: ‘It was a difficult day for Caroline and Mark, so the family spent the evening together. Caroline got upset as soon as she saw the photographs from the wedding.

‘For him to turn around and tell Beth that his dad could come and sit at the back of the church is awful. Mark was told he could sit behind plus-ones — who Adam has probably never even seen or spoken to.’

Meanwhile Adam’s mum Caroline said she is trying to stay upbeat and positive but, in truth, her heart is breaking.

Andrew faces fresh scrutiny after FBI note mentions hidden Epstein tapes

Andrew accused of ‘paedophilia organised by Jeffrey Epstein’ in an FBI tip-off

Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor has been dealt another blow as his deep links to Jeffrey Epstein continue to unravel.

According to a new report published by The Sun on December 27, the former prince is referenced in claims involving alleged hidden recordings at one of Epstein’s properties.

The report states that the FBI received the tip in 2020 from an IP address traced to Norway. The message alleged that tapes were hidden inside a secret compartment at Epstein’s Bahamas home, though it remains unclear whether the recordings exist or what they might contain. There is also no confirmation that the FBI acted on the information.

The note, reportedly labelled “Federal Bureau of Investigation Official Record,” includes the claim: “Pedophilia organized by JE for Prince Andrew.

“For evidence: look for keys stored in the drawing room. There are tapes in a secret compartment of a drawer next to a Michelangelo picture of a flower vase at his house in the Bahamas.”

The Sun further reported that the informant alleged the crimes had been ongoing for 15 years. However, no evidence has emerged to substantiate the claims, and authorities have not confirmed their authenticity.

Andrew, 65, has consistently denied all wrongdoing linked to Epstein or Ghislaine Maxwell. He has largely remained out of the public eye in recent months as more Epstein Files continue to be released, including previously disclosed emails reportedly exchanged with Epstein and Maxwell.

The former prince was stripped of his royal titles earlier this year by his brother King Charles III amid ongoing fallout from the scandal.
