PM appoints interim PHF president after Bugti resigns
- Bugti’s resignation accepted with immediate effect.
- Bugti blames PSB for delayed funds during Australia tour.
- Sanaullah says PSB inquiry report is submitted to PM.
Secretary Inter-Provincial Coordination (IPC) Mohyuddin Ahmad Wani has been appointed as the ad hoc President of Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) following the resignation of the sitting President Tariq Bugti.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, who is also the Patron-in-Chief of the PHF, has approved Bugti’s resignation as the President of PHF with immediate effect on Thursday.
The prime minister has also taken notice of the mismanagement at the hockey federation.
Bugti resigned, accusing the Pakistan Sports Board (PSB) of mismanagement and failing to release funds in time for travel and logistical expenses linked to the team’s participation in the FIH Pro League.
He alleged that payments for hotel bookings in Australia were not made on time, creating major difficulties for players and officials, and claimed he was told at the PSB that the process could take up to two months.
He appealed to the prime minister and Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Asim Munir to form a committee to investigate the matter and determine the facts.
Bugti also announced a two-year ban on Pakistan captain Ammad Shakeel Butt, accusing him of threatening fellow players and running a campaign against the federation’s management, and said the PHF had decided a day earlier to initiate disciplinary proceedings against Butt over misconduct.
Adviser to the prime minister on Inter-Provincial Coordination, Rana Sanaulla,h later said a three-member inquiry committee formed by the PSB had completed its investigation and submitted its report to the prime minister, with sources familiar with the development saying the findings held the PHF accountable.
Butt, meanwhile, made allegations of mismanagement and mental harassment against the team management and the PHF, saying players were subjected to conditions no professional athlete should face.
He said players were made to perform menial tasks during the tour, including cleaning kitchens, washing dishes, laundering their own clothes and scrubbing washrooms before heading to the field for training and matches.
Separately, Pakistan Cricket Board Chairman Mohsin Naqvi met the national men’s hockey team players in Lahore and promised to address their grievances over alleged mistreatment during the Pro Hockey League, while pledging support ahead of the World Cup Qualifier in Egypt.
“We will accommodate hockey players in every possible way. We will extend complete cooperation to streamline hockey affairs,” Naqvi said.
He directed officials to make immediate arrangements for air tickets, playing kits and hotel accommodation, ordered that a training camp be set up from Friday with preparations completed by Thursday night, and instructed that injured players be provided immediate medical treatment under PCB supervision.
Naqvi also distributed cheques of Rs1 million each to players after their runner-up finish in a recent national hockey tournament, fulfilling an earlier announcement.
He clarified on X that he had no ambitions to lead the PHF, writing: “I am not becoming Hockey Federation President, but we will assist players till this turmoil ends.”

Donald Trump orders Pentagon to declassify UFO & alien files
President Donald Trump has made a surprise announcement directing his administration to make public all files on UFOs and any “alien and extraterrestrial life.”
In a Truth Social post on Thursday, February 20, he wrote, “Based on the tremendous interest shown, I will be directing the Secretary of War and other relevant departments and agencies to begin the process of identifying and releasing government files related to alien and extraterrestrial life.”
President Donald Trump also called for the release of “any and all other information connected to these highly complex, but extremely interesting and important, matters.”
However, at this point, it is yet to be seen what UFO documents could become public or what secrets they might hold.
For decades, the Pentagon has tracked unexplained object phenomena in the sky, which it officially terms UAPs.
But the Department of Defense, in a report made public on March 6, 2024, stated that there’s no evidence that any government investigation into UAPs has confirmed the existence of extraterrestrial life.
For context, President Trump’s announcement came just days after former president Barack Obama generated buzz when he appeared on a podcast show hosted by Bria Tyler Cohen and said, “They are real but I haven’t seen them.”
He later clarified that he never saw evidence of contact between humans and extraterrestrial life during his presidency.

How Jennifer Aniston, boyfriend Jim Curtis ‘do the repair’ in relationship?
Jennifer Aniston and her boyfriend Jim Curtis have built what he describes as a calm and intentional approach to handling disagreements, choosing communication over conflict when tensions arise.
Speaking on the Ced with Intention podcast in an episode released on February 12, Curtis shared that spending a lot of time together naturally comes with occasional friction, but how they respond makes the difference.
“I spend a lot of time with my girlfriend,” he said. “We spend a lot of time in the house together. Sometimes, we can have, like, little things that flare up.”
Rather than letting those moments turn into lasting resentment, Curtis explained they try to address issues directly and thoughtfully.
“We have the opportunity to either be silent and be angry; or go leave the house, or think about it and meditate on how to change it, or we can say, ‘Hey, this is what happened, I’m sorry,’ and do the repair,” he said.
He added that fixing an issue once is not enough if the same problem keeps returning.
“Because once you make a repair and then it just happens five more times, no one trusts it,” Curtis explained, stressing the importance of real change rather than empty apologies.
Curtis also spoke about setting expectations early in a relationship, saying couples benefit from what he called “pre-gaming the rules,” particularly around communication styles.
He noted that without conscious effort, unresolved personal issues can easily spill into a relationship.
“We are all so screwed up that unless we start to be really consciously pro-active about that, then we’re just gonna be having all of our inner stuff come up all over the place and not know how to experience it together,” he said.
The couple were first linked in July 2025 and confirmed their relationship publicly later that year.
Curtis previously shared on the Today show that their romance began quietly through mutual friends.
“We were just introduced by friends,” he said.
“That’s it. We found out that we had mutual friends and we started to just chat.” He added that their connection grew slowly over time, saying, “It took a long time.”

Daniel Radcliffe reveals ‘worst’ movie he was offered
Daniel Radcliffe has shared what he considers one of the worst film ideas ever pitched to him, and it involved reuniting the original Harry Potter trio in a very unexpected remake.
Speaking as the latest guest on Hot Ones, Radcliffe revealed that during the height of the Harry Potter franchise, executives once floated the idea of remaking The Wizard of Oz with him, Emma Watson and Rupert Grint in the lead roles.
“One of the worst ideas I’ve ever heard, during Potter, somebody came to us and I think asked, like they wanted to cast all three of us, me, Emma and Rupert, in a remake of Wizard of Oz, where Emma was Dorothy,” Radcliffe said.
He added that he could not recall which character Grint was meant to play, but his own role was unforgettable.
“I was like a karate kicking cowardly lion,” he said, explaining that the Lion would also inexplicably know martial arts.
Looking back, Radcliffe said he instantly sensed it was a misfire.
“And I remember I was like 14 or 15 and I was like, ‘I don’t know a lot about the world, but this is a bad idea and it should not be made.’”
The project never moved forward, and the trio ultimately never reunited for another feature film outside the Harry Potter universe.
Radcliffe, Watson and Grint appeared together in eight Harry Potter films released between 2001 and 2011, a run that defined all three of their early careers.
Their only on-screen reunion since then came in the television special Harry Potter 20th Anniversary: Return to Hogwarts, which streamed in January 2022.
For Radcliffe, the abandoned Oz remake remains a memorable example of an idea that, even at a young age, he knew should never see the light of day.
