Dak Prescott reacts to Micah Parsons trade to Packers: ‘I wasn’t surprised’
NEWYou can now listen to Fox News articles!
The highest-paid player in the NFL reacted to the new highest-paid non-quarterback in the NFL being traded from his Dallas Cowboys.
Micah Parsons being traded to the Green Bay Packers remains a shock to some, even three days after Jerry Jones fulfilled the All-Pro’s trade request. As a result, the Packers dished out a massive four-year, $188 million deal that became an NFL record for the most money paid to a non-quarterback.
Dak Prescott, Parsons’ former teammate and the highest-paid player in the league after receiving his desired long-term extension last offseason, spoke about Parsons being dealt.

“I definitely didn’t think he was going to get traded,” he said, per The Athletic. “But just with the way their negotiations went down, obviously to some extent. It seemed like it got personal on their ends, so that’s why I wasn’t surprised.”
COWBOYS LEGEND MICHAEL IRVIN BLASTS JERRY JONES OVER MICAH PARSONS TRADE
Prescott added that he’s happy there was an end result to the tension that was created between Parsons and Cowboys owner Jerry Jones.
“If nothing had been done, we’d sit here and y’all still would’ve been asking me whether he was playing in a couple days or when he was going to be playing,” Prescott said, via the Dallas Morning News. “That would’ve been a lot more of a headache and distraction than getting a solution to it.”
Prescott previously expressed confidence that Parsons would get a deal much like he and star wide receiver CeeDee Lamb did last offseason. He also thought it would be done before Dallas kicked off against the Philadelphia Eagles this Thursday.

But the blockbuster trade was made official this past Thursday, with the Cowboys securing the Packers’ next two first-round picks as well as All-Pro defensive tackle Kenny Clark in exchange for Parsons.
Jones had stated he wouldn’t put too much worry into Parsons’ trade request. But he justified the trade after making it on Thursday, saying that the move was made with the focus on success for the team now and in the future.
As the Cowboys and its fan base processed the shocking move, Prescott said that he simply told Parsons “good luck” while revealing the two shared some messages with each other after the trade. Players like Lamb and Trevon Diggs also wished Parsons luck.

TRENDING RUMORS
– Manchester United, Real Madrid and Barcelona are all keen on signing Eintracht Frankfurt left back Nathaniel Brown, according to Florian Plettenberg. Madrid in particular have sent scouts to watch the 22-year-old in action against Cologne and Atalanta, and the Germany international could be set to leave the Bundesliga in the summer of 2026 after what has been a breakout season. Brown won his first full international cap in October, and his crossing ability and attacking runs have earmarked him as one of the most exciting full backs in the German league. Eintracht are reported to be seeking a fee of around €60 million.
– Manchester United, Newcastle United, Everton and Tottenham Hotspur are all interested in signing Atlético Madrid midfielder Conor Gallagher in January, according to Fabrizio Romano. The 25-year-old was a loan target for Manchester United last summer, but Atlético rejected their advances. Now, though, Atletico could be open to a €30m permanent deal, while Gallagher himself is looking for a move to advance his chances of featuring for England at the World Cup next summer. Gallagher was not seen as a top priority in the last window, but United boss Ruben Amorim is likely to be at the front of the queue in January.
– Manchester City goalkeeper James Trafford is considering leaving the club after just five months, following the subsequent arrival of Gianluigi Donnarumma, according to The Daily Mail. Fellow City backup keeper Stefan Ortega is also contemplating his future, with both keen for more first-team action. Trafford, 23, arrived from Burnley for £27 million in the summer but hasn’t played a Premier League game since Donnarumma signed from Paris Saint-Germain on transfer deadline day. Trafford had hoped his move would help him land the England No. 1 jersey, but now his place in the squad is in jeopardy because of his lack of game time. Newcastle were linked previously and could be first in line for the former Burnley man when the transfer window opens.
– Arsenal are considering a move for versatile Borussia Dortmund forward Karim Adeyemi, according to The Mirror. The Gunners are looking for further attacking reinforcements and the 23-year-old could be available next summer before his contract runs out in 2027. Dortmund value the striker’s transfer at around €80 million after he racked up 28 goal contributions in his past 56 appearances, grabbing three goals and six assists so far in 2025-26. Adeyemi can play anywhere along the front line, with Chelsea and Manchester United also interested.
– Barcelona boss Hansi Flick is keen to reunite with Dortmund defender Nico Schlotterbeck, having given him his debut for the Germany national team, according to Mundo Deportivo. Schlotterbeck, 26, has so far decided against extending his contract at Dortmund, which is due to expire in 2027, meaning he is likely to leave the club next summer. Bayern Munich are keen on signing him, but Dortmund are unwilling to let him go to their league rivals. That leaves Barcelona and Real Madrid as favorites to make a move, though Liverpool are also reported to be interested.

Former ESPN star blasts Ole Miss after Pete Golding revealed as Lane Kiffin’s chosen successor
NEWYou can now listen to Fox News articles!
The closely watched drama in the college football world finally reached its conclusion. Lane Kiffin, the head coach at Ole Miss for the past six years, boarded a flight for Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Sunday.
Kiffin was formally introduced as LSU’s next head coach Monday. Ole Miss quickly responded to Kiffin’s exit by elevating Pete Golding from defensive coordinator to head coach.
While Kiffin’s exit sparked considerable backlash, former ESPN host and current sports commentator and podcaster Bomani Jones turned his focus to the coach’s handpicked successor.

Jones lambasted Golding’s performance during his stint as Ole Miss’ defensive coordinator. He also floated a theory about Golding’s appearance.
COACH WHO LEFT OLE MISS TO JOIN LANE KIFFIN AT LSU WILL FINISH SEASON WITH REBELS
“I had known him by name. I saw a picture of him and was like ‘There’s no way that man is a head coach,'” Jones said.

Golding has coached for nearly two decades, but this will be his first opportunity to lead a football program that competes in a Power Four conference.
Kiffin coached the Rebels to victory over Mississippi State in the Egg Bowl rivalry game Friday to secure an 11-1 record for Ole Miss. While Ole Miss did not qualify for this week’s SEC Championship Game in Atlanta, the seventh-ranked Rebels are in position to advance to the College Football Playoff.
Whatever game Ole Miss ends up playing later this month will be Golding’s first opportunity as the Rebels’ head coach. After reportedly meeting with Ole Miss athletic director Keith Carter and school chancellor Glenn Boyce, Kiffin learned his time coaching the Rebels had come to an end.

“I was hoping to complete a historic six-season run with this year’s team by leading Ole Miss through the playoffs, capitalizing on the team’s incredible success and their commitment to finish strong and investing everything into a playoff run with guardrails in place to protect the program in any areas of concern,” Kiffin said in a statement.
