Circulose, iTextiles, Labor Made, Neela, and The Lycra Company will unveil a centenary-inspired denim collection reinterpreted through the lens of sustainable fashion at the Kingpins trade show in Amsterdam on October 15 and 16.
Dubbed B-Logic (“be logical” in English), this line of nine menswear and womenswear silhouettes has been conceived, from fibre to finish, to address both sustainability and performance.
On the materials front, fibre specialist The Lycra Company has teamed up with Circulose, a Swedish group that recycles plant-based cellulosic textile waste into a new material. For this project, that material has been paired with bio-derived Lycra EcoMade fibre, which delivers performance comparable to the conventional Lycra fibre.
As for the other stages of the project, Pakistani manufacturer Neela wove the fabric and Japan’s Labor Made handled the creative direction, drawing inspiration from iconic denim pieces from 1929 and 1949. Impact measurement and optimisation were carried out by iTextiles.
The collection can be discovered at Amsterdam’s Sugar Factory, where Kingpins will welcome around 100 international denim specialists for this edition of the event.
