Celys presents compostable polyester at Melbourne Sourcing Expo
CELYS, the pioneer in compostable polyester solutions, proudly presented its breakthrough material platform at the Global Sourcing Expo Melbourne, held at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre from November 14 -16. Thank you to everyone who visited our booth. Your insights and curiosity made our first appearance in Melbourne an important moment for CELYS and our mission to advance next generation sustainable materials.
Celys has presented its certified compostable polyester at the Global Sourcing Expo Melbourne, drawing strong interest from brands, mills and startups.
Visitors valued its high performance, comfort and ability to decompose without microplastics, shifting the conversation beyond recycling.
The event confirmed rising demand for regenerative materials.
Across the event, one question appeared again: “Is it recycled?” This reflects the current focus of many industry discussions. Yet Melbourne also became the moment when many visitors realised that the future of sustainability will be shaped not only by recycled content but by what materials can return to the earth after use.
CELYS introduced this next step. It is the world’s first certified compostable polyester designed for high performance and a responsible end of life. While recycled polyester remains part of the global supply chain, it still produces microplastics, relies on petrochemical processes and often reaches landfills. CELYS offered a different path that attracted strong interest from brands, mills, sourcing teams and innovators.
A standout insight from the event was the considerable interest from startups. Many early-stage founders are building purpose driven labels and are searching for materials that differentiate their products while aligning with the values of young and environmentally aware consumers. CELYS resonated because it delivers strong performance while supporting genuine environmental responsibility.
Visitors were impressed by how closely CELYS matches the comfort, feel and versatility of traditional polyester while being able to decompose without leaving microplastic behind. Conversations shifted quickly from “Is it recycled?” to “When can we start testing compostable fibres in our next developments?”
Our debut in Melbourne confirmed that demand for regenerative materials is growing fast. Thank you again to everyone who connected with us. We look forward to supporting your future material planning and collaborating on solutions that return more to the earth than they take.
