Chinese Foreign Minister and Politburo member Wang Yi will visit Pakistan on Thursday to co-chair the 6th Pakistan-China Foreign Ministers’ Strategic Dialogue in Islamabad.

The visit comes at the invitation of Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Ishaq Dar and is part of the regular high-level exchanges between the two countries aimed at strengthening their “All-Weather Strategic Cooperative Partnership” and reaffirming mutual support on core issues.

Discussions are expected to focus on enhancing economic and trade ties, as well as reaffirming both nations’ commitment to regional peace, stability, and development.

Earlier this week, Wang Yi visited India to explore ways of easing long-strained bilateral relations amid mounting global trade pressures.

Foreign Minister Wang Yi held talks with his counterpart Subrahmanyam Jaishankar, and is also expected to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his three-day visit to New Delhi.

Modi, according to Indian media, might also visit China this month.

India’s foreign ministry said in a social media post that “important engagements of the India-China Special Representatives and on bilateral relations” were scheduled over the next two days.
