COAS says action underway against Indian proxies, terrorists in Balochistan
- COAS says Balochistan’s people are Pakistan’s true strength.
- Highlights federal, provincial efforts for socio-economic uplift.
- Stresses youth empowerment for provincial development.
Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Field Marshal Asim Munir, said on Tuesday that India-backed proxies, Fitna al-Hindustan and Fitna al-Khawarij, were propagating anti-people and anti-development agendas in Balochistan with malicious intent to perpetrate violence.
“All necessary actions are being taken to pursue these terrorists and rid the province of this menace,” the field marshal said while interacting with participants of the 17th National Workshop Balochistan at the General Headquarters (GHQ) on Tuesday.
During his address, COAS Munir said Balochistan is the pride of Pakistan, endowed with vibrant, resilient and patriotic people who are its true wealth.
He highlighted the federal and provincial governments’ development initiatives aimed at uplifting the province’s socio-economic landscape through a people-centric approach, stressing the need to realise its immense economic potential.
Acknowledging the constructive role of civil society, particularly in engaging and empowering the youth, he underscored their pivotal role in ensuring sustainable development and countering vested political agendas for the long-term prosperity of Balochistan.
The field marshal reiterated that while Pakistan seeks regional peace and stability, any violation of its territorial integrity, direct or indirect, would be met with a firm and decisive response to safeguard the lives and well-being of its citizens.
The workshop concluded with a candid, interactive question and answer session between the army chief and the participants.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) and Balochistan — both of which share a porous border with neighbouring Afghanistan — faced the brunt of the terrorism incidents, accounting for more than 96% of the total violence across the country.
Balochistan, as per a report issued by the Centre for Research and Security Studies (CRSS), witnessed at least 25% of the total violence-linked fatalities (230) and incidents (85).
During his last visit to Balochistan, Field Marshal Munir stressed the significance of joint civil-military efforts in addressing the challenges faced by the people.

Prince Harry slowly turning public tide toward him in UK
Prince Harry has more fans in Britain than the headlines suggest.
A fresh YouGov poll of 8,022 adults conducted on 8 December shows that a solid 56% of Britons believe the Duke of Sussex should receive some level of police protection when he sets foot back in the UK.
A timely verdict as the Government launches yet another review of his security arrangements.
However, Britons aren’t exactly lining up to foot the bill for Harry’s security entourage.
According to the poll, a mere 17% think he should enjoy state-funded police protection.
A more pragmatic 39% say he can have the protection so long as he pays for it himself.
Meanwhile, 28% take a firmer stance, arguing he shouldn’t be entitled to police protection in any form.
And then there’s the final 16%, who politely shrugged and opted for “don’t know,” perhaps wisely dodging yet another royal debate.
The Home Office has now ordered a fresh threat assessment after the duke formally requested a reassessment of the risks he faces on visits to Britain.
Harry wrote to Home Secretary Shabana Mahmood in October, asking officials to take another look at the security threats he may encounter when travelling.

Cardi B gets new piercings: ‘Loving the vibe’
Cardi B is expanding her piercing collection once again, and she’s letting fans watch every moment.
In a new Instagram video posted on Dec. 4, New York-based piercer Robbie of NYC Piercing shared a behind-the-scenes look as the Grammy winner got four new dermal piercings on her neck and lower back.
Cardi leaned forward in the chair, neck exposed, and checked in before the needle went in, “This one ain’t as bad as the back is it?”
Moments later, she let out a quick yelp. When it came time for the lower back piercings, she simply said, “Ow.”
Robbie captioned the BTS clip, “Fresh back dermal implants, and surface neck, nape piercing for @iamcardib, loving the vibe!”
The rapper, who shares kids Kulture, 7, Wave, 4, and Blossom, 14 months, with ex Offset, is no stranger to bold body mods.
The new jewellery comes just weeks after she welcomed her fourth baby and first child with boyfriend Stefon Diggs.
Earlier this year, Cardi showed off a piercing in a place most wouldn’t expect, her bottom.
When some fans questioned if it was real, she posted a close-up photo and wrote, “Do I lie ?”
But not every piercing sticks around. She later revealed that pricey piece, worth $13,000, didn’t last long.
Pain and cost aside, Cardi B seems happy to keep expressing herself through body art, and this latest round proves she’s still “loving the vibe.”

Gennifer Goodwin, who is the voice of Judy Hopps in Zootopia franchise, revealed her children’s take on the film.
Her sons Oliver , 11, and Hugo, 9, made their first public appearance during the London premiere of Zootopia 2.
During an upcoming appearance on The Jennifer Hudson Show, Goodwin dished on her sons reaction to the film and how it made her a cool mom.
“They really felt like this is the first movie that I was able to like slip under the ‘mommy is an actress’ radar,” she shared.
Once Upon a Time actress added, “They didn’t even understand it was me for years… They really pitched to us that Zootopia is something that means so much to us as a family because it’s also their favourite, number one, it’s their favourite movie, though Judy Hopps is not their favourite character by the way.”
“So, now I’ve got cool points. I’ve won their love. I bribed them to come on the [press] tour,” she added.
The sequel follows, Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde (Jason Bateman) are back as ZPD officers, tackling a new mystery involving Gary De’Snake, a mysterious snake seeking proof that his grandmother, Agnes, was the true creator of Zootopia’s weather walls, not the Lynxley family who took the credit and exiled reptiles.
While there were many familiar characters, some new included Ke Huy Quan as Gary De’ Snake, Andy Samberg as Pawbert Lynxley and Macaulay Culkin and Brenda Song as Cattrick and Kitty Lynxley.
The film is now running in theatres.
