India has launched the Tex-RAMPS Scheme with an outlay of ₹305 crore (~$34.14 million) for fiscal 2025-26 to fiscal 2030-31 to strengthen research, data systems, innovation and start-ups in textiles.
Fully funded by the Ministry of Textiles, the scheme will support smart textile research, build a real-time data platform, nurture entrepreneurial ventures and expand State-level capacity.

Textiles Minister Giriraj Singh said the initiative integrates research, data systems, and start-up support to position India as a global leader in sustainability, technology, and market competitiveness. Tex-RAMPS will advance research in smart and sustainable textiles, establish robust data platforms such as the Integrated Textiles Statistical System, and promote industry-academia collaborations through incubation, hackathons, and State-level capacity building, the ministry said in a statement.

The scheme is expected to enhance global competitiveness, strengthen research and innovation ecosystems, expand evidence-based policymaking, support start-ups, and generate employment across the value chain, paving the way for a future-ready textile industry.
