King Charles’ personal gesture toward a humanitarian cause has come to light just days before his annual Christmas broadcast.

His Majesty recently made a “personal donation” to World Jewish Relief, the charity confirmed on December 22, noting that the contribution arrived at a critical moment as the war in Ukraine continues to devastate lives. The donation was revealed ahead of the King’s Christmas address, which was recorded this year in the Lady Chapel at Westminster Abbey in London.

“We’re proud to share that World Jewish Relief has received a donation from His Majesty The King and the King Charles III Charitable Fund to support our humanitarian work in Ukraine,” read a statement by the organisation. “Thank you, Your Majesty, for supporting Ukraine and World Jewish Relief.”

World Jewish Relief, which supports those affected by the conflict in Ukraine as well as refugees who have resettled in Britain, has provided aid to more than 375,000 people across nearly 400 towns and cities in Ukraine since Russia’s invasion began in February 2022.

Its work includes mental health support, help rebuilding livelihoods, and repairs to homes damaged by missile and drone attacks. In the UK, the charity has also assisted more than 14,000 Ukrainian refugees with learning English and finding employment.

The King has had a longstanding relationship with World Jewish Relief, dating back over two decades. He became the charity’s patron in 2015 after years of involvement, including visits to Jewish communities in Poland and support for rebuilding Jewish life in Krakow.

On Sunday, December 21, the actress and singer shared an Instagram video of her trying on and doing a photoshoot in the original costume from the hit 2000 film, which starred Jim Carrey as the Grinch. Momsen was just eight years old when she starred as the adorable Whovian who befriended the Grinch.

Now 32, Momsen shared behind-the-scenes clips of herself carefully squeezing into the gingham dress with the help of an assistant. She layered the look over a tulle skirt for volume and slowly worked her arms into the puffy sleeves.

“I’m a little jacked,” she joked as she struggled to get comfortable. When her assistant suggested a seamstress open the sleeve and restore it later, Momsen replied, “Possibly.”

Once fully glammed, Momsen completed the look with a red cape trimmed in white fur and black combat boots, putting a modern edge on the nostalgic outfit.

“Yes…that is my real Cindy costume from the Grinch movie,” she wrote in the caption. “25 years later…it still (kind of) fits… what a surreal holiday season #whereareyouchristmas.”

The moment came shortly after Momsen revisited Cindy Lou Who musically as well, releasing a new (rock) version of Where Are You Christmas? with her band, The Pretty Reckless.

Victoria Beckham reportedly attempted to reconnect with her eldest son Brooklyn just days before he blocked both her and David Beckham on social media.

The fashion designer reportedly “liked” one of Brooklyn’s Instagram posts in a gesture of goodwill ahead of Christmas.

In response, she was met with silence and ultimately got blocked by her elder son.

“There was no intention behind it other than to show she’s thinking of him before Christmas. She had no idea it would lead to this fallout.”

“She can’t understand why Brooklyn would make the decision to block her, David, and his brothers. Cruz and Romeo are just as hurt by it and it feels like Brooklyn has truly cut them out of his life.”

The news came just a few days after the 20-year-old refuted claims that his parents unfollowed their eldest on Instagram.

“NOT TRUE. My mum and dad would never unfollow their son… Let’s get the facts right. They woke up blocked… as did I,” Cruz wrote on social media.

The English model and photographer no longer follows any of his immediate family members.
