Nikki Glaser cut ‘cruel’ Sydney Sweeney joke from Golden Globes monologue
Nikki Glaser is pulling back the curtain on her Golden Globes hosting gig and the jokes that never made it to air.
During her appearance on SiriusXM’s Howard Stern Show, the comedian admitted she had written a biting line about Sydney Sweeney but ultimately scrapped it.
Glaser explained that the ‘too cruel’ joke would have referenced Sweeney’s 2025 box office flop Christy, a biopic about boxer Christy Martin.
“Tonight is a night of celebration but we can’t ignore that it’s a weird time in Hollywood,” Glaser recalled the cut material.
“People just aren’t going to the theater to see things. If you don’t believe me, there was a movie this year where Sydney Sweeney played a le**ian who just bounced around in tiny shorts for two hours and it made $14.”
Glaser revealed that other stars including Brad Pitt, Julia Roberts, and Jonathan Bailey also narrowly escaped her sharper material.
Pitt would have been teased for playing a race car driver at 62, Roberts for her film After the Hunt, and Bailey for being named People’s Sexiest Man Alive.
Ultimately, Glaser said she cut those lines.
Despite the edits Glaser still delivered a sharp set poking fun at Leonardo DiCaprio’s dating history and Timothée Chalamet’s stature.
