Emma Thompson tried ‘bad idea’ at age of 66

At 60, Emma Thompson starred in Dead of Winter, an action movie; however, in her view, it was a “bad idea.”
In a chat with UPI, she says, “It was a very bad idea to start it at the age of 66. That’s just stupid, but there you go.”
The British star explains why she thinks in that way. “Reckless in one’s third age, as it were. And since I’m in the youth of old age, what do you do when you’re young?”
She continues, “You kind of take risks. So, I thought, ‘Well, I might as well take risks in this bit as well and see what happens.’ And what happens is you get hurt regularly.”
Moreover, the actress opens up about the stunt team on the set. “We had a wonderful stunt team who taught us all that and we had to do those fight sequences over and over and over again.”
“But you go: ‘Well, yes, this makes sense. What else would you do? Your body would react like that,'” she adds.
Emma also weighs in on the nature of her stunts, clarifying, “The fight sequences aren’t like in The Bourne Ultimatum. She doesn’t suddenly turn out to be a judo expert.”
“She just survives by pushing, by kicking by doing whatever she can do to prevent this insane woman from killing her and the girl,” she notes.
Dead of Winter is out in theatres.

Anthony Albanese meets with King Charles III in audience

Anthony Albanese, the Prime Minister of Australia, has met King Charles III in a royal audience at Balmoral Castle in Scotland.
The Royal Family’s official Instagram page posted a picture of Albanese standing next to King Charles.
On Saturday morning, September 27, the Australian Prime Minister landed at Lossiemouth Royal Air Force base along with his fiancée, Jodie Haydon, where they received a warm welcome by Scottish bagpipers.
In the picture, His Majesty King Charles III can be seen standing with hands behind his back, wearing a dark grey suit with a striped tie and a white shirt.
While Albanese is beaming with his hands side by side in a dark blue suit, white shirt, and black tie.
The picture also had a caption that read, “Today at Balmoral, the Prime Minister of Australia was received in audience by The King.”
Notably, a day before meeting King Charles, the Australian Prime Minister’s audience met with the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, Sir Keir Starmer.
It is pertinent to mention that this meeting of King Charles and Albanese’s audience came after the monarch hosted the United States President Donald Trump at a state banquet, where he highlighted the importance of the trilateral AUKUS relationship between the UK, US and Australia.

Jennifer Lawrence makes statement against Israel

Jennifer Lawrence spoke out about the deaths of children in Gaza during a press conference Friday at the San Sebastian Film Festival, where she was promoting her latest film, Die, My Love.
“I’m terrified and it’s mortifying. What’s happening is no less than a genocide, and it’s unacceptable. I’m terrified for my children, for all of our children,” the Oscar-winning actress said in response to a question from reporters.
Lawrence, 35, also criticized the tone of American politics, expressing concern about its impact on young people.
“On top of everything else, what makes me so sad is that this disrespect and the discourse in American politics right now is going to be normal to them. I mean, the kids who are voting right now at 18, it’s going to be totally normal to them that politics has no integrity. Politicians lie; there is no empathy,” she said.
The actress added that ignoring global conflicts risked consequences closer to home.
“Everybody needs to remember that when you ignore what’s happening on one side of the world, it won’t be long until it’s on your side as well,” she warned.
