SGS Philippines hosts PSQ Ugnayan on FSSC 24000

SGS Philippines recently hosted the Philippine Society for Quality’s (PSQ) inaugural Ugnayan Benchmarking session at the SGS Academy in Makati. City. Themed “Social Sustainability Towards Developing Responsible Business,” the event brought together nominated PSQ members and industry practitioners to explore the transformative potential of FSSC 24000 — the internationally recognized framework for Social Management Systems (SMS) — as a strategic tool for embedding social responsibility into organizational operations.

FSSC 24000: Building social management systems

The primary focus of the session was an in-depth review of FSSC 24000, presented by Ante Batinic, Technical Manager for Social Sustainability at the Foundation FSSC. Mr. Batinic explained the basics of Social Management Systems (SMS), guiding participants through how organizations can systematically identify, manage, and continuously improve their social performance throughout the value chain.

SGS Philippines hosted PSQ’s inaugural Ugnayan session in Makati, highlighting FSSC 24000 as a framework for Social Management Systems.
Through expert sessions and workshops, participants explored SMS implementation, ESG integration, compliance readiness, and tools like living wage analysis to strengthen social sustainability across value chains.

SGS experts facilitated interactive workshops on SMS Readiness Compliance and Living Wage Analysis to provide participants with practical tools for implementation. Insights on social factors within Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) frameworks were discussed in relation to FSSC 24000 certification.
