Timothée Chalamet adds another feather in his cap at Palm Springs Film Festival
Timothée Chalamet added another award to his growing list of honours this weekend.
The 30-year-old actor attended the 2026 Palm Springs International Film Festival Film Awards on Saturday night, January 3, at the Palm Springs Convention Center in California.
Although he skipped the red carpet, Chalamet was present inside the ceremony.
He received the Spotlight Award for his performance in Marty Supreme. The award was presented by the film’s director, Josh Safdie.
Chalamet’s girlfriend, Kylie Jenner, was also in attendance to support him. While she did not walk the red carpet, Jenner shared mirror selfies on social media showing off her custom, sparkly outfit for the evening.
The couple has been spending more time together publicly in recent weeks. Just days earlier, they reportedly rang in the New Year together.
In December, Chalamet and Jenner made a rare red carpet appearance as a couple at the Los Angeles premiere of Marty Supreme, where they coordinated in orange-toned outfits.
For the Palm Springs event, Jenner wore a custom dress designed by Ludovic de Saint Sernin.
Chalamet’s latest award recognition comes as Marty Supreme continues to generate attention during the ongoing awards season.

Fire and Ash proves its power with $1 billion global run
James Cameron has done it again.
His new science-fiction fantasy Avatar: Fire and Ash has crossed $1 billion in worldwide earnings.
The film successfully brings audiences back to the alien world of Pandora.
According to Walt Disney Studios, global ticket sales have now reached
$1.03 billion.
‘These movies consistently draw audiences to the movie theatre,” said Paul Dergarabedian, Comscore head of marketplace trends.
The original Avatar, released in 2009, became a massive success and earned $2.9 billion worldwide, making it the highest-grossing movie of all time based on total sales.
However, the 1939 classic Gone With Wind still holds the top spot when adjusted for inflation.
The sequel of Avatar: The Way of Water, released more than a decade later in 2022, earned over $2.3 billion globally and won an Academy Award for its visual effects.
Interestingly, the latest installment performed strongly at the box office despite being released during the holiday season.
It earned $306 million in North America and $777.1 million internationally.
For those unfamiliar, Cameron’s journey with billion-dollar films began with Titanic in 1997, which went on to make nearly $2.3billion worldwide.

Curfew imposed in Nepal’s Birgunj as protests erupt over mosque vandalism
- Protests erupt over desecration of mosque by Hindu extremists.
- Police arrest several protesters after clashes in Birgunj.
- Security forces ordered to open fire against curfew violators.
A curfew was imposed in Birgunj, a southern Nepal city bordering India, following protests that erupted over the vandalism and desecration of a mosque by Hindu extremists, triggering clashes between the demonstrators and police.
Hindu extremists had attacked the mosque on Sunday, carrying out vandalism and looting, which left the local Muslim community enraged and deeply distressed.
Large numbers of Muslims took to the streets to protest against the desecration incident in Dhanusha’s Kamala Municipality, prompting police to use tear gas to disperse demonstrators, while several protesters were taken into custody.
Following the protests, the Parsa District Administration issued curfew orders, banning public movement on the streets across the city, as well as restricting all types of gatherings and demonstrations, according to local media reports.
Security forces have also been authorised to open fire against those violating the curfew, officials confirmed.
Birgunj lies about 130 kilometres south of Kathmandu and is a major entry point for fuel, goods and supplies from India.
Indian authorities have also tightened security and completely sealed the Nepal border in view of the tense atmosphere in Birgunj, the reports added.
Clashes between Hindus and Muslims are uncommon in predominantly Hindu Nepal, where most Muslims live in southern border regions.
