News broke on Thursday that Valentino CEO Jacopo Venturini has stepped down from the executive helm of the luxury fashion label.

Jacopo Venturini – Valentino

In a short announcement, the company simply said: “Today, Valentino announces that it has reached a mutual agreement with Jacopo Venturini to terminate his employment and board roles effective August 13, 2025 as Mr Venturini has decided to take a break for personal reasons.”

A new chief executive officer will be announced in due course.

Valentino has said nothing else on the subject and hasn’t responded to any requests for comment.

Back in June as rumours swirled about his future, the company had announced that Venturini was on sick leave from the business that — like so many others in the luxury and ultra-luxury sector — has seen declining sales and profits of late.

There was no news about creative director Alessandro Michele, the former Gucci creative chief, but it’s believed he will stay in his post.

The past few years have seen lots of movement in both creative and executive roles at the world’s top luxury labels as the sector grapples with a slowdown that won’t seem to end with some brands seeing large high double-digit sales and profit falls.
