Mohsin Naqvi ‘rejects’ BCCI VP’s demand to hand over Asia Cup 2025 trophy – SUCH TV
Asian Cricket Council (ACC) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi on Tuesday rejected BCCI Vice-President Rajeev Shukla’s repeated demand to hand over the Asia Cup 2025 trophy, asserting that the silverware should be collected by the Indian skipper in person.
The matter came up during a routine ACC meeting in Dubai, chaired by Naqvi, where Shukla repeatedly pressed for the trophy handover.
Naqvi, however, responded that the issue was not part of the meeting’s agenda. After further insistence, he remarked that if the Indian team wanted the trophy, its captain should visit the ACC office personally to receive it.
No decision has been taken yet on whether the trophy will be handed over to the Indian side.
According to sources close to regional cricket bodies, BCCI officials — who attended the meeting virtually — reacted sharply to Naqvi’s stance, demanding instead that the trophy be transferred to the International Cricket Council (ICC) headquarters.
Other ACC members reportedly attempted to defuse tensions, urging Indian officials to show restraint. However, the BCCI delegation abruptly left the meeting and cut its digital feed.
The row follows a series of controversies involving the Indian team during the Asia Cup — from players snubbing handshakes to refusing to receive the trophy from Naqvi, who also heads the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB).
The handshake incident had already drawn attention amid heightened tensions between the arch-rivals, stemming from the group-stage clash through to the final.
The tournament concluded with another flashpoint when the Indian team declined to accept the Asia Cup trophy from Naqvi after defeating Pakistan in the final at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium.
The decision was reportedly made at the direction of the BCCI. As a result, the post-match ceremony ended without the Men in Blue lifting the silverware.

There were lofty expectations attached to the New York Mets entering this season. But a 5-5 record over the final 10 games of the regular season, coupled with a less-than-stellar September as a whole, ended with the Mets falling short of the playoffs.
Amid the Mets’ misfortunes, Michael Kay, a radio host and play-by-play announcer for the New York Yankees, decided to weigh in.
Kay used the opportunity to point the finger at the way some fans behaved during different periods of the offseason and into the regular season.

“Again, every Met fan out there, I feel for you. I do. And I don’t rejoice in your pain at all, but it’s that vicious, angry subset of Mets fans that weren’t hugged by their parents, who didn’t have any love in their family and they love to pass along hate; derisive, nasty, those I don’t feel sorry for,” the broadcaster said on “The Michael Kay Show.”
“Let me tell you a little secret: I feel glee about your pain today because you deserve it. The way you tried to make my life a living hell by all those Juan Soto tweets, when you know that I never even said the stuff you’re accusing of me saying, but you needed something to hang on the rim about and said, ‘Let’s pick the guy who announces Yankees games and is also accessible on the radio show, let’s do it to him.’
“But now, I’m the one who’s laughing at you because you couldn’t beat out the Cincinnati Reds with a $110 million payroll. You added the great Juan Soto to a team that went to Game 6 of the NLCS and you didn’t make the playoffs the next year. How do you wrap your mind around that?”

Kay later clarified that the entire Mets fan base was not the target of his ire. Instead, he highlighted fans who took aim at the Yankees after the Pinstripes failed to retain Juan Soto.

During one of the Yankees-Mets famed “Subway Series,” Kay reported — citing sources within both the Yankees and Mets — that Soto was “very, very glum around the clubhouse.” Kay said he received backlash following his report.
“I got a lot of Mets friends. They’re devastated today. How could you not be?” Kay said. “This team systematically rips your heart out. And those are the people I genuinely for. I really feel for them. The people that I don’t feel for, the people that made me think that it might be fun today to come on today at 1 o’clock and just giggle for two hours. You know who you are. You’re the creeps that couldn’t let good enough be. You’re the ones, ‘We’re big brother now.’ You’re the ones who kept sending those tweets out to me, ‘Juan Soto looks happy now.’ How dumb do you feel? How chagrined are you? Are you embarrassed?

“Because this was going to be a dawning of a new era. The Yankees were going away. When they went 20-31 over those 51 games, you were rejoicing. ‘I don’t think the Yankees can make the playoffs. See, they couldn’t do it with their Plan B.’ Plan B worked. Your Plan A didn’t. You signed the best free agent available in a long time. One of the best players ever to become a free agent, just a smidge behind Alex (Rodriguez) … that’s how valuable Juan Soto is, and you still felt flat on your face.”

Soto finished his first season in Queens with 43 home runs, 105 RBIs and 38 stolen bases.
While the Mets front office begins to strategize on how to improve in 2026, the Yankees open a wild-card playoff series with the Boston Red Sox Tuesday evening.

Micah Parsons’ return to Dallas as a member of the Green Bay Packers left neither his team nor the Dallas Cowboys satisfied after their 40-40 tie on “Sunday Night Football.”
Though the Cowboys won’t be seeing Parsons again for the remainder of the regular season, owner Jerry Jones continued to talk about Parsons during his weekly media appearance.
After the tie game, Parsons called out Jones to say he never reached out following the blockbuster trade to the Packers for two first-round picks and defensive tackle Kenny Clark. Parsons went as far as to say that Jones “couldn’t tell me as a man.”

Jones responded to Parsons’ comment, saying that he never called because Parsons instructed him to take his number out of his phone.
“I really don’t want to respond to that at all,” Jones initially told 105.3 The Fan. “…but that phone call thing got stopped when he told me to take his number off my dial, so don’t call him anymore. So, I quit those calls.”
The high-scoring bout between both teams didn’t lead to any bragging rights, but Jones believes that it showed trading Parsons as the right move, saying that he feels “real good about our trade.”

“Now, that’s a real good test,” he said. “I’m glad everybody got to see it, where it goes. And it left me feeling real good about our trade.”
Parsons collected one sack on quarterback Dak Prescott while finishing with three total tackles in the tie. It wasn’t the best statistical night for him, though he was able to tally three quarterback hits on Prescott, who he admitted would be “painful” to hit considering their long friendship.

While it’s way too early to tell who exactly “won” the trade, the Cowboys’ first-round picks received from Green Bay for Parsons will ultimately be the crux of that decision – the Packers do have the better record at 2-1-1, while the Cowboys moved to 1-2-1 on the year thus far.

NASCAR driver Tyler Reddick’s 4-month-old son hospitalized after ‘showing signs of heart failure’

The 4-month-old son of NASCAR driver Tyler Reddick is in a cardiovascular intensive care unit in North Carolina after showing signs of “heart failure,” Reddick’s wife revealed in a social media post over the weekend.
Alexa Reddick shared the health update in a post on Instagram on Sunday.

“After a run around for months with the pediatrician’s office, I knew what was going on was something bigger. Always trust your mom gut. Our sweet Rookie was showing signs of heart failure that were being missed.”

She continued, “Please, please pray for this sweet guy that God heals his heart. With God, Rookie, and his amazing doctors here at Levine’s I believe He can. We are in the cardiovascular ICU while we get some answers and work on improving heart function. I usually don’t share our personal lives, but I’m hoping you take the time to pray for him today.”
The couple’s son, their second child born in May, remained in the hospital. Alexa Reddick shared more positive updates on Monday.

“Came off oxygen today, got some answers & perked right up after a transfusion!” she wrote in a post shared to Instagram Stories.
“He’s saying thank you all for your prayers & kind messages,” she added in another story post.
Reddick raced Sunday at Kansas Speedway in a pivotal NASCAR playoff race, where he placed seventh.
