Jennifer Lopez ‘hurting behind closed doors’ after Ben Affleck divorce: Source

Jennifer Lopez masking pain behind upbeat divorce

Jennifer Lopez is reportedly covering the pain of failed marriages by her “best thing that ever happened” comment on Ben Affleck divorce.

Sources close to Lopez revealed to RadarOnline.com that she ” is putting on a brave face, but behind closed doors, she’s hurting.”

Lopez finalized her divorce from Affleck earlier in January after parting ways in April 2024. They couple tied the knot back in 2022 and they rekindled their romance two decades after calling off their engagement in 2003.

For the unversed, Lopez has been married four times in total and shares twins Emme and Max with her third husband Marc Anthony.

The insider continued, “She tells people the divorce was the best thing for her, but it’s also a way to protect herself. Saying she’s thriving makes it easier to deal with the fact that another marriage has ended in disappointment.”

A second source claimed that Lopez is “trying to reframe the story by saying it was the best thing that ever happened to her.

“It’s part truth, part self-preservation. She does believe the experience changed her, but there’s no denying it’s been painful. Her friends see her crying one day and smiling the next – that’s the reality.”

During a recent interview with CBS Sunday Morning, Lopez reflected on working with Affleck while their marriage was ended, as her latest film, Kiss of the Spider Woman, was produced by Affleck and his pal Matt Damon’s company, Artists Equity.

“The movie wouldn’t have been made if it wasn’t for him and Artists Equity. I will always give him that credit. It was hard not to think about stuff, but it was, like, the best and the worst of times. Every moment on set… I was so happy. And then… back home, it was not great,” Lopez recalled at the time.

Demi Lovato credits husband for saving her from depression

Demi Lovato recalls ‘really rough’ period in life

There was a time when Demi Lovato was in depression. But she credits Jordan Jutes, her husband, for helping her in one of her rough periods.

In an interview with Who What Wear, the pop icon recalls the hardest time she faced while making her 2023 album, Holy Fvck.

“Every album that I’ve written has served its purpose. Some albums were more emotional than others,” the Heart Attack hitmaker shares, noting that she started work on the album after her rehab in 2021. “Holy Fvck was probably, dare I say, the most healing, and it served its purpose.”

In the making, Jutes was also a contributor. Together, the pair wrote several songs of the album, including Substance, Happy Ending, and City of Angels.

“We became friends before we became lovers,” she reveals. “I opened up to him because I was going through a really rough time when I made Holy Fvck.”

The award-winning artist continues, “I had just come out of treatment, and I was newly sober and raw with my emotions. I had nothing to medicate with,” adding that Jutes “was there for me as a friend, helping me get through this deep depression I was in.”

Moreover, Demi also looks back at her past relationships, adding they didn’t work out because she “hadn’t taken care of myself yet.”

“The universe rewards you when you do the therapeutic work on yourself, [and] I had to do the work.”

“Because of that, the universe provided. I got myself ready for a life by myself, and then I was able to share it with somebody else,” she concludes.

Ethan Slater is not holding back when it comes to praising the cast of Wicked: For Good.

In a new conversation with Extra, Slater shifted the spotlight to his co-stars, including Jonathan Bailey, who was recently crowned PEOPLE’s Sexiest Man Alive 2025

“Johnny [Bailey] is so beautiful,” he said.

The actor continued applauding the film’s ensemble by saying, “And Michelle [Yeoh] and Jeff [Goldblum] and I got to work with Marissa [Bode], you know, from this close away for this whole movie and yet getting to see her on the big screen, it’s just so moving.”

Expressing pride in the long-awaited sequel, Slater added, “I’m so proud of this movie and it’s so different from the first one, and yet it feels like the obvious true continuation of it.”

Meanwhile, Bailey himself has been reflecting on the recognition that came with his Sexiest Man Alive title.

In his interview with Forbes, the Wicked and Bridgerton star, 37, called the honor a “huge honour” as he graced PEOPLE Magazine’s cover for 2025.

“There’s nothing sexier than progress,” Bailey told the outlet.

He also discussed how perceptions of masculinity have evolved over time, sharing that he “grew up being very inspired by sexy men” not only for their looks, but for how “many of them helped shift how we understand ourselves in society.”
