Dak poised to become Cowboys’ career passing leader
FRISCO, Texas — With 160 yards Sunday against the Philadelphia Eagles, Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott would become the franchise’s career passing leader.
Tony Romo, Prescott’s predecessor, had 34,183 yards in his career. Prescott is at 34,024 yards.
“I’m humbled. Thankful to be healthy and to be in this position to do it,” Prescott said. “I was on the production call [with Fox], and they asked me the same thing, ‘Would I have thought this 10 years ago?’ And I said, ‘Yeah, I was very arrogant as a rookie.’ When you’ve played in this game long enough and you can stay healthy, with my expectations of what my play is, that’s supposed to happen. So just thankful, humbled, super grateful to be playing a game I love at this high of a level.”
Earlier in the season, Prescott became the Cowboys’ leader in completions (now 3,033). He is second in attempts (4,521) to Troy Aikman, third in wins with 80 behind Aikman and Roger Staubach, and second in touchdown passes to Romo (247 to 234).
He entered the season with the best completion percentage in team history and has upped that to 67.1%. Of the marks he has set so far, that is the one in which he takes the most pride.
“It’s hard to do every year, each game,” Prescott said. “… I just go into every game honestly trying to get 80[%], and that’s such a steep number, but that’s what I want. I think I’ve told y’all that after games, any incompletion I don’t like unless it’s a good one [where] I have to throw it away and have to live to the next play.”
Coach Brian Schottenheimer was unaware how close Prescott was to the mark.
“He’s obviously not walking around talking to me about it because his focus is this football team,” Schottenheimer said. “If we do what we’re capable of doing, I believe he will achieve that milestone. I know what he really wants. It’s not his name individually in the record books. It’s his name collectively with this group of young men, his teammates, his brothers, doing something much, much better than just having individual accolades.”
Remembering a brother
This will be the Cowboys’ first home game since the passing of Marshawn Kneeland.
The team will wear T-shirts with Kneeland’s likeness on them for warmups. Before kickoff, a tribute video will be played and there will be a moment of silence. Members of his family and his girlfriend, Catalina Mancera, are scheduled to be in attendance.
Things are not back to normal, but the routine of the practice week has been settling.
“I’ll be honest with you, my assistant, Laura, came in, and I was blaring my music in my office,” Schottenheimer said. “I’m a big music guy. And she kinda was tongue-in-cheek being silly, but she’s like, ‘It’s great to see you playing your music loud.’ That kind of made me chuckle because I’m feeling more back to myself.”
Players continue to say they will honor Kneeland with how they play.
“Marshawn, he’s something that’s rooted in us,” linebacker DeMarvion Overshown said. “We might have his shirt on us, but he’s here. He’s here. The way that we attack and practice, we wake up with that, like, all right, this is what Marshawn would be doing. … It’s going to always be, we moving forward with Marshawn, that’ll never change.”
A different look
Special teams coordinator Nick Sorensen knows the Cowboys were fortunate on Monday against the Las Vegas Raiders.
After the Raiders scored to make it 33-16, they opted for an onside kick using punter AJ Cole instead of the traditional attempt with a kicker. Cole skied a punt high in the air, and the Cowboys alertly called for a fair catch.
One problem: They didn’t actually catch it. George Pickens backed away. KaVontae Turpin did not come up to make the catch either. The Raiders could have caught the ball and retained possession.
Pickens was able to recover the ball after it hit the ground.
“It shows how good GP’s hands are off of that reaction to catch it off the bounce,” Sorensen said. “That’s a free ball. The cool thing is when you fair-catch, it’s not like they can say go catch it because there is a fair catch interference [penalty].”
Sorensen said that teams have used that type of free kick in the last two years and that they cover the scenario in their meetings and walkthroughs.
“That’s one of those, it doesn’t happen often, so we’ll revisit it, remind the guys,” Sorensen said.
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on Monday announced the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 11 Team of the Tournament, naming Babar Azam skipper after a title-winning campaign.
The Team of the Tournament comprises three players each from Peshawar Zalmi and Hyderabad Kingsmen, two apiece from Lahore Qalandars and Islamabad United, and one player each from Multan Sultans and Quetta Gladiators.
The selection was made by a five-member panel drawn from the commentary team. The jury also finalised the Emerging Team of the Tournament, recognising the standout young performers of the season.
A total of 44 matches were played from March 26 to May 3 across Lahore and Karachi.
Babar Azam, who lifted his third PSL title as a player and first as captain, finished as the leading run-scorer with 588 runs.
Opening the innings, he also claimed the Hanif Mohammad Cap and equalled the record for most runs in a single PSL season, matching Fakhar Zaman’s tally from 2022.
His campaign featured two centuries in four matches against Quetta Gladiators and Islamabad United.
Peshawar Zalmi are further represented by Kusal Mendis and Sufyan Moqim. Mendis scored 550 runs, including four half-centuries and a century, while also contributing eight dismissals behind the stumps.
His century came against Karachi Kings at the National Bank Stadium on April 9. Left-arm wrist-spinner Sufyan Moqim took 22 wickets at an average of 14.40 and an economy rate of 7.20, earning both Player of the Tournament and Best Bowler honours.
Hyderabad Kingsmen have three representatives in Usman Khan, Hassan Khan and Hunain Shah. Usman finished fourth among the top run-scorers with 389 runs, including a century and three half-centuries.
Hassan contributed 139 runs at a strike rate of 195 alongside six wickets and strong fielding performances. Hunain Shah impressed with 17 wickets in 10 matches, emerging as a key bowler in the latter stages of the competition.
Lahore Qalandars’ Fakhar Zaman and Shaheen Shah Afridi also feature in the XI. Fakhar scored 401 runs to finish third overall, while Shaheen claimed 16 wickets at an economy rate of 7.86.
Multan Sultans’ Shan Masood is included after scoring 367 runs at an average of 45.87 and a strike rate of 158.18. Islamabad United captain Shadab Khan also makes the side after a strong all-round season, scoring 173 runs and taking 17 wickets, earning the Best All-Rounder of the Tournament award.
Teammate Richard Gleeson is selected for his impactful new-ball performances, finishing with 12 wickets at an economy rate of 7.13.
Quetta Gladiators’ Hasan Nawaz has been named as the 12th player after scoring 291 runs.

The Caitlin Clark and Indiana Fever’s opening game is only days away from tipping off and the superstar WNBA player received a message from LeBron James.
The Lakers star hyped up Clark after she posted a message on Instagram, “Year 3!!! See you all soon.”

James appeared to be a big fan of Clark as he posted about the Fever sharpshooter before the beginning of her second season in the WNBA.

Year 2 didn’t exactly work out for Clark. She started off the season hot, finishing in double figures in scoring in eight straight games before she was held to just six points in 31 minutes against the Seattle Storm.
Clark reached at least 12 points in the final three games she appeared in. On July 15, Clark suffered a hamstring injury before the All-Star break and she wouldn’t return to the floor for the rest of the year.

She said last month she was “100% healthy” going into the 2026 season.
“I’m a person that doesn’t want to sit out a single rep, like I want to be in there every single time,” Clark told reporters in April. “But I think just being a little bit smarter with my body…whether that’s recovery, whether that’s pre-court treatment, whatever it is.”
She proved it as much so far during the preseason.

Here’s what to know about this oddsboard:
Finals Favorites: The Thunder won it all last season, and the season before that, the Celtics reached the top of the mountain. So, entering the postseason, the two squads were favored to meet in a seven-game series with the title on the line, meaning one of the two franchises could have been approaching dynasty territory if the odds had rung true. However, the Celtics suffered a shocking first-round defeat at the hands of the Sixers, despite leading the series 3-1. Now, Boston is at home, while the Thunder will face the Lakers after sweeping the Suns in Round 1. The new favorite to come out the East? The New York Knicks, who haven’t been to the Finals since falling 4-1 to San Antonio at the conclusion of the 1998-99 season. N.Y. beat Atlanta in six games in the first round and is up 1-0 on Philly in the second round.
The Challengers: The Spurs are next in the mix from the West. Keep in mind, San Antonio and OKC faced off five times this season, and the Spurs won four of those matchups, including the first three. In terms of the East, after New York, things are up in the air, with the Pistons, Cavs and Sixers all in the mix. Detroit, after being one of three teams to win 60 games in the regular season and the only East team to accomplish the feat, has not been getting much respect on the oddsboards, including this one. However, it could have something to do with the Pistons trailing 3-1 to Orlando in the first round, and having to overcome a 60-38 halftime deficit in Game 6 in order to force a Game 7, which they ultimately won.
