Daniel Radcliffe reveals ‘worst’ movie he was offered
Daniel Radcliffe has shared what he considers one of the worst film ideas ever pitched to him, and it involved reuniting the original Harry Potter trio in a very unexpected remake.
Speaking as the latest guest on Hot Ones, Radcliffe revealed that during the height of the Harry Potter franchise, executives once floated the idea of remaking The Wizard of Oz with him, Emma Watson and Rupert Grint in the lead roles.
“One of the worst ideas I’ve ever heard, during Potter, somebody came to us and I think asked, like they wanted to cast all three of us, me, Emma and Rupert, in a remake of Wizard of Oz, where Emma was Dorothy,” Radcliffe said.
He added that he could not recall which character Grint was meant to play, but his own role was unforgettable.
“I was like a karate kicking cowardly lion,” he said, explaining that the Lion would also inexplicably know martial arts.
Looking back, Radcliffe said he instantly sensed it was a misfire.
“And I remember I was like 14 or 15 and I was like, ‘I don’t know a lot about the world, but this is a bad idea and it should not be made.’”
The project never moved forward, and the trio ultimately never reunited for another feature film outside the Harry Potter universe.
Radcliffe, Watson and Grint appeared together in eight Harry Potter films released between 2001 and 2011, a run that defined all three of their early careers.
Their only on-screen reunion since then came in the television special Harry Potter 20th Anniversary: Return to Hogwarts, which streamed in January 2022.
For Radcliffe, the abandoned Oz remake remains a memorable example of an idea that, even at a young age, he knew should never see the light of day.

How Jennifer Aniston, boyfriend Jim Curtis ‘do the repair’ in relationship?
Jennifer Aniston and her boyfriend Jim Curtis have built what he describes as a calm and intentional approach to handling disagreements, choosing communication over conflict when tensions arise.
Speaking on the Ced with Intention podcast in an episode released on February 12, Curtis shared that spending a lot of time together naturally comes with occasional friction, but how they respond makes the difference.
“I spend a lot of time with my girlfriend,” he said. “We spend a lot of time in the house together. Sometimes, we can have, like, little things that flare up.”
Rather than letting those moments turn into lasting resentment, Curtis explained they try to address issues directly and thoughtfully.
“We have the opportunity to either be silent and be angry; or go leave the house, or think about it and meditate on how to change it, or we can say, ‘Hey, this is what happened, I’m sorry,’ and do the repair,” he said.
He added that fixing an issue once is not enough if the same problem keeps returning.
“Because once you make a repair and then it just happens five more times, no one trusts it,” Curtis explained, stressing the importance of real change rather than empty apologies.
Curtis also spoke about setting expectations early in a relationship, saying couples benefit from what he called “pre-gaming the rules,” particularly around communication styles.
He noted that without conscious effort, unresolved personal issues can easily spill into a relationship.
“We are all so screwed up that unless we start to be really consciously pro-active about that, then we’re just gonna be having all of our inner stuff come up all over the place and not know how to experience it together,” he said.
The couple were first linked in July 2025 and confirmed their relationship publicly later that year.
Curtis previously shared on the Today show that their romance began quietly through mutual friends.
“We were just introduced by friends,” he said.
“That’s it. We found out that we had mutual friends and we started to just chat.” He added that their connection grew slowly over time, saying, “It took a long time.”

Fans react to Toy Story 5 trailer
Fans have begun weighing in on Toy Story 5 after Pixar released the film’s full trailer on Thursday, offering the first extended look at the long-awaited return of Woody, Buzz Lightyear and the rest of the beloved toy gang.
The trailer confirms that original voice stars Tom Hanks and Tim Allen are back as Woody and Buzz, alongside Joan Cusack as Jessie.
It also introduces a new threat to traditional playtime in the form of Lilypad, a frog-shaped smart tablet voiced by Greta Lee, setting up a clash between classic toys and modern technology.
The story centres on what happens when Bonnie’s toys find their roles challenged by the arrival of the high-tech device, raising a familiar question for the franchise: what is a toy’s purpose in a world increasingly dominated by screens?
The trailer shows Woody and Buzz reuniting to confront this shift, teaming up with Jessie, Forky and others to protect Bonnie’s sense of play.
Toy Story 5 trailer: Fans reactions
Online reactions were swift and wide-ranging, with fans sharing humour, scepticism and cautious optimism.
One fan wrote: “Can’t wait for Woody x Roblox collab after,’ while another added: ‘Can’t wait to rip my nieces and nephews from their iPads to take them to watch this film that they’ll learn nothing from.’”
Some viewers focused on character development, particularly Buzz Lightyear’s recent portrayals.
One fan wrote: “Really hoping they can bring Buzz back from being a boring useful idiot that he has turned into the last two movies,” while another added: “Only had one line at the end there but it’s nice to know Mr. Potato Head was recast.”
Others welcomed the film’s apparent themes, even while acknowledging the franchise’s long history.
One fan wrote: “Personally, I think that making the message of the movie about how children having unlimited access to tech and the negative effects of copious amounts of screen time and social media is a good thing.”
Another joined: “Toy Story 3 was perfect and they never needed to continue this series, but I at least thought Toy Story 4 was still shockingly good and this looks promising to me.”
There were also reflections on the passage of time, both for the characters and the actors behind them.
One observer wrote: “I was going to say that Joan Cusack and some of the other VAs sound quite old in the trailer, but I suppose it could work given the message of the movie.”
The voice cast largely reunites for the fifth instalment, with returning performances from Tony Hale as Forky, Blake Clark as Slinky Dog and many other familiar names, while newcomers include Conan O’Brien, who voices a toilet-training tech toy called Smarty Pants.
Seven years after Toy Story 4, the sequel arrives as Pixar’s longest-running franchise continues to evolve.
Toy Story 5 is set to open in cinemas on 19 June, and if early fan reactions are any indication, the conversation around toys, screens and childhood is already well under way.

John Travolta celebrates 72nd birthday with new ‘accomplishment’
John Travolta marked his 72nd birthday with what he called a major personal milestone, revealing that he has earned a new pilot’s licence and adding another aircraft to his already long list of aviation achievements.
The actor, John Travolta, shared the news on Instagram on Wednesday, posting a video of himself piloting a Bombardier Global Express jet.
In the clip, he appears in the cockpit and tells the camera, “I just accomplished my license in the Global Express SIC.”
He then gives viewers a brief tour of the aircraft, adding with a smile, “Congratulations to me.”
Travolta made it clear the achievement was tied to his birthday, writing in the caption, “It’s my birthday today! And I’m very proud to say I got my license in the Global Express! Thank you for all my birthday wishes!”
The Bombardier Global Express is a large-cabin, long-range business jet designed for luxury travel.
According to Fly Blade, it can fly distances of up to 7,900 nautical miles, making it one of the more advanced aircraft Travolta has qualified to operate.

Flying has long been more than a hobby for the Grease star.
He has held a pilot’s licence since the age of 22 and has been an ambassador for Qantas Airways since 2002. Over the years, he has become certified to fly multiple aircraft, including the Boeing 747, 707 and 737.
In 2022, Travolta celebrated earning his Boeing 737 licence, calling it “a very proud moment in my aviation history.”
At the time, he told fans, “To add to my 747 and 707 licenses, I just received my 737 license. And it went very well, so just sharing my moment with you.”
He has also spoken openly about how his love for flying began.
In a previous Instagram post, Travolta shared a throwback photo from his teenage years, explaining, “Throwback Thursday: When I was 15 years old, my school offered an aviation class which started my second career.”
Travolta frequently posts videos of himself in the cockpit.
His late wife, Kelly Preston, once described how central flying was to their family life.
Speaking to The Telegraph in 2018, she said they travelled constantly using his planes and explained, “He’s had his license for almost 30 years.”
For Travolta, the new licence appears to be both a birthday celebration and another chapter in a lifelong passion, one he continues to pursue well into his seventies.
