Families pardon suspect with ‘links to judiciary’ in Islamabad hit-and-run case
- Court accepts settlement after families record statements.
- Magistrate orders suspect’s release on approved bail.
- Remand completed before suspect’s appearance in court.
ISLAMABAD: The families of the two young women, who lost their lives after being hit by a speeding vehicle in Islamabad, have pardoned the suspect, leading to the termination of the case.
The development came as both families recorded their statements before Judicial Magistrate Shaista Khan Kundi.
The teenage boy, whose father is said to be associated with the judiciary, was sent on a four-day physical remand on December 2 after his car fatally hit a scooter carrying two women at Islamabad’s Secretariat Chowk on Shahrah-e-Dastoor.
Police said the car collided with the scooter, killing both women on the spot. The driver was arrested immediately after the incident and later produced before the court. The judge handed the accused over to the police on a four-day physical remand for further investigation.
During today’s proceedings, the court was informed that the parties had reached a settlement, after which the judge approved the suspect’s bail and ordered his release.
One victim’s brother appeared in court to record the family’s statement, while the mother’s statement was recorded online. The father of the second deceased girl also submitted his statement in person.
The suspect was presented before the court upon completion of his four-day physical remand.

Josie Gibson opts for oxygen therapy over designer bags in bold self care move
Josie Gibson has shared a health update in a new video, revealing that she is ‘undergoing healing’ in a hyperbaric oxygen chamber.
The This Morning host, 41, appeared in high spirits as she relaxed in the small chamber wearing an oxygen mask.
Josie also showcased her evolving figure following her weight loss, sporting a black sports bra and flashing a peace sign to the camera.

‘Some women treat themselves to designer handbags and some women treat themselves to hyperbaric oxygen chamber #alternativehealing.’

Meghan Markle responds as Prince Harry ‘flirty’ side exposed
Meghan Markle’s feelings came to light after Prince Harry’s ‘flirty’ texts to a woman became a hot topic.
For the unversed, the Duke of Sussex exchanged some intimate messages with a journalist named Charlotte Griffiths in 2011 and 2012.
The conversation was presented in the court during the latest hearing of Harry’s privacy lawsuit filed against the publishers of The Daily Mail and The Mail.
King Charles’ son said to Charlotte that he “missed our movie snuggles” and how he enjoyed “drinking u under the table.”
On the other hand, Miss Charlotte also had nicknames for Harry, “Mr Mischief” and “H-Bomb.”
Now, an insider told Radar that Meghan is “fuming” over the latest revelations, which emerged years later.
“This has led to Harry picking up the nickname ‘Flirty Harry’ because of the tone of those messages, and Meghan Markle is fuming that all of this is now doing the rounds,” the source shared.
The Duchess of Sussex believes that the whole scenario is “embarrassing” and “frustrating”, especially after the Sussexes’ efforts to control their narrative.
“The fact that the messages come across as so playful and familiar has left Meghan particularly unhappy that this side of Harry is being highlighted in such a public way,” the report stated.

Rapper Gucci Mane kidnapped and robbed: Report
Rapper Gucci Mane was allegedly kidnapped and robbed at gunpoint at a Dallas music studio in January, the US Department of Justice announced on Thursday, 2 April, with fellow rappers Pooh Shiesty and Big30 among nine people charged in connection with the incident.
US Attorney Ryan Raybould told a press conference that the alleged attack took place on 10 January, when Pooh Shiesty, real name Lontrell Williams Jr., invited three music industry professionals, including Gucci Mane, to the studio for a business meeting to discuss the terms of his recording contract.
What followed, according to Raybould and a federal complaint obtained by PEOPLE, was anything but a business meeting.
Shiesty and his alleged co-conspirators carried out what the DOJ described as “a coordinated armed takeover,” forcing one of the victims to sign a release from his recording contract at gunpoint.
“The remaining conspirators displayed firearms and robbed the other victims of Rolex watches, jewelry, cash and other high-value items,” Raybould said.
“One of the victims was actually choked by one of the defendants to the point of near unconsciousness.” Big30, born Rodney Lamont Wright Jr., allegedly barricaded the studio door to prevent the victims from escaping.
Making the alleged offence more remarkable, Shiesty, 26, was on home detention at the time for a prior firearms conspiracy conviction out of the Southern District of Florida.
Also charged is his father, Lontrell Williams Sr., who is alleged to have helped plan and execute the kidnapping.
Within hours of leaving the studio, several defendants reportedly posted pictures on social media showing items stolen from the victims.
Eight of the nine suspects have been arrested across Dallas, Memphis and Nashville.
They include Shiesty, Big30, Williams Sr., Kedarius Waters, Terrance Rodgers, Damarian Gipson, Demarcus Glover, Kordae Johnson and Darrion McDaniel. If convicted, each faces a potential sentence of up to life in prison.
Raybould was direct about what the case represented.
“They came to Dallas to conduct legitimate business and they were met with firearms and violence,” he said.
“This case should serve as a warning to others who believe that using violence and intimidation tactics to rob others in our community is a viable way to conduct business. I’m here to say that it is not.”
Gucci Mane, real name Radric Davis, is the founder of 1017 Records, to which Shiesty was signed.
In October 2024, Gucci Mane announced he was releasing most of his roster but notably retained Shiesty, who had just been released from prison after serving time for a 2022 guilty plea on firearms and drug charges.
Representatives for Shiesty declined to comment on the allegations.
