Kristin Davis shares sweet memory of ‘lovely’ Matthew Perry

Kristin Davis is looking back at time as she shared a sweet memory of being set up on a date with the late Matthew Perry.
In a recent chat on her Are You a Charlotte? podcast on Monday, August 18, the 60-year-old actress revealed the share-worthy moment with the Friends star.
Remembering the day, Kristin shared that the date happened between 1997 and 1999. At the time, she was working on the Melrose Place series.
The date was set up by one of her attorney friends and took place at a low-key dinner place.
“It was a dinner party. It was so low-key,” she recalled. “It’s a bunch of Hollywood people. I don’t even know who was there other than this lawyer and Matthew. Matthew’s lovely. He sits next to me. And he’s talking about how thrilled he is, how happy they are on the set at Friends, and he was doing a film with Salma Hayek. I was like, ‘Wow, he’s so happy.’”
Comparing her day with the work stress on the set of Melrose Place as actors were worried about being cut from the show, she noted, “It wasn’t the happiest place in a way and it was like stressy. There were 15 series regulars. Everyone had the feeling they might get cut or whatever. So I was like, ‘Wow, that’s amazing, you’re so happy.’”
However, the pair never romantically dated but Kristin loved the interaction.
For the unversed, Matthew passed away in October 2023 at age 54 from the acute effects of ketamine.

Prince Harry leaves King Charles ‘furious’ once again

Prince Harry has reportedly left his father King Charles ‘furious’ yet again with his latest move.
Prince Harry has reportedly taken another major step for security in Britain nearly five months after he lost a legal challenge over the levels of security he and his family are entitled to while in the UK.
The Times, citing the royal sources, reported Archie and Lilibet doting father has revived his security battle with the Home Office by writing to the home secretary, Shabana Mahmood, about his case.
The insider claims a formal request has been lodged by Harry with the Royal and VIP Executive Committee (Ravec) which is overseen by the Home Office, asking for a risk-assessment process to be conducted.
The insider claims, “I can confirm that the duke has written to the new Home Secretary asking for a risk management board to be conducted.
Following these reports, the insider tells Rob Shuter for substack ShuterScoop that the ‘fragile’ peace between Prince Harry and King Charles has collapsed — and insiders say Harry’s to blame.
He also reveals that Harry reignited their feud by demanding a new government review of his royal security, blindsiding palace aides.
The fallout has been swift, the expert said and added ‘Charles is furious.’
“He can’t change the rules, and Harry won’t stop pushing”, the insider tells the royal expert.

China denies claims Pakistan sent rare earth samples to US

- Chinese FM spokesperson responds to allegations about Pakistan.
- China, Pakistan remain “all-weather strategic cooperative partners”.
- Denies Pakistan sent rare earth samples linked to Chinese tech.
KARACHI: China has dismissed media reports alleging that Pakistan supplied rare earth samples to the United States, describing such claims as “misinformed, fabricated, or aimed at creating division” between the two nations, The News reported.
These comments were made during a routine press briefing on Monday when a Global Times journalist asked Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lin Jian to respond to allegations that Pakistan had employed Chinese technology to export rare earth materials to the US, leading Beijing to impose stricter export restrictions on related technologies.
Reports in early October claimed that Pakistan had sent its first shipment of enriched rare earth elements and critical minerals to US Strategic Metals, a Missouri-based firm.
Lin said China and Pakistan remain “all-weather strategic cooperative partners” who maintain “high-level strategic mutual trust and close communication on major issues of common interest.”
He added that both sides have discussed Pakistan’s mining cooperation with the US, and that Islamabad had assured Beijing its interactions with Washington “will never harm China’s interests or its cooperation with China”.
Per Lin, the samples shown by Pakistani leaders to US officials were gem ores purchased by staff in Pakistan, not rare earth materials linked to Chinese technology.
Lin added that China’s recently announced export controls on certain rare earth-related technologies “have nothing to do with Pakistan,” describing the move as a “legitimate action” to strengthen export regulations, maintain regional stability, and meet non-proliferation obligations.
Last week, China expanded its export controls on rare earths and related technologies, tightening its grip on global supply chains, Reuters reported.
The new rules, which take effect on November 8 — two days before the current US-China trade truce expires — restrict exports of rare-earth extraction and separation technologies, synthetic diamond powders, single crystals, diamond wire saws and related materials.
