‘Malcolm in the Middle’ star Frankie Muniz put crush before historic ‘SNL’ gig

Malcolm in the Middle star Frankie Muniz had the opportunity of a lifetime, but he chose to follow his heart instead.
During his appearance on the Lightweights Podcast, Frankie revealed that he was asked to host Saturday Night Live in the year 2000, when he played the titular role in the hit sitcom.
However, he denied the offer to become one of the youngest people ever to host the comedy show, as he had to cohost the 2000 Kids’ Choice Awards, where his childhood crush, Amanda Bynes, was presenting.

He recalled telling his agent, “‘I want to be on All That. I want to be on The Amanda Show, because I had a huge crush on Amanda Bynes as a kid, and I thought that those were the funniest, most amazing shows.”
“My mom gets a call one day, and she’s freaking out, so excited. It’s Gail Berman, who at the time was the president of Fox. She goes, ‘You got asked to host Saturday Night Live. I’m like, ‘What’s that?’ And she’s like, ‘It’s huge. You’ll be one of the youngest people ever. It’s this big deal,'” he shared.
When his mom told him the commitment would clash with his Kids’ Choice Awards cohosting gig, he immediately said no.
“I’m like, ‘Oh, hell no. I am going to the Kids’ Choice Awards, right? I don’t care. I’m meeting Amanda Bynes at the Kids’ Choice Awards,'” he recalled.
For “about a week and a half, I had every executive, every producer, everybody in the history of Fox TV, Regency TV, going, ‘What are you doing?'”
“I don’t back out of obligation,” he remarked.
Frankie later got to work more with Amanda when they co-starred in Big Fat Liar, alongside Paul Giamatti.
Fans will get to see Frankie Muniz reprise his famous character from Malcolm in the Middle in the reboot, Malcolm in the Middle: Life’s Still Unfair, in December.

Four terrorists belonging to Indian proxy neutralised in Mastung

- Sanitisation operation underway to clear remaining threats.
- ISPR vows to eliminate Indian-sponsored terrorism.
- Security forces reaffirm nation’s resolve against terrorism.
Security forces on Friday eliminated four terrorists belonging to the Indian proxy, Fitna al Hindustan, during an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in Balochistan’s Mastung.
During the conduct of the operation, the security personnel effectively engaged the terrorists’ location, and after an intense fire exchange, four Indian-sponsored terrorists were neutralised, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said in a statement.
Weapons, ammunition and explosives were also recovered from the terrorists, who remained actively involved in numerous terrorist activities in the area.
The security forces were conducting a sanitisation operation to eliminate any other terrorists found in the area, it added.
The security forces “are determined to wipe out the menace of Indian sponsored terrorism from the country, and reaffirm the nation’s unwavering resolve to bring the perpetrators of terrorism to justice”, it concluded.
Pakistan has witnessed a surge in cross-border terror incidents since Taliban rulers returned to Afghanistan in 2021, particularly in the bordering provinces of KP and Balochistan.
The country witnessed a sharp escalation in militant attacks in August, with incidents surging by 74% compared to July, according to a report by the Pakistan Institute for Conflict and Security Studies (PICSS).
The Islamabad-based think tank recorded 194 fatalities from militant attacks during the month.
Meanwhile, in an alarming disclosure, government officials have disclosed that there are more than 8,000 Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), declared “Fitna al-Khawarij”, terrorists in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Saying that the militants set up checkpoints on the CPEC Road, DI Khan-Bannu Road and in Tank, the officials said that the terrorists take refuge in the general population and attack security forces.
KP, as per the police report, has witnessed more than 600 terrorism incidents in the first eight months of 2025.
There were 605 terror incidents in the province till August, which resulted in the martyrdom of 138 civilians, while 352 others were left wounded.
Whereas 79 police personnel were martyred and 130 were injured, the report added.

Liam Hemsworth, Gabriella Brooks share their ‘official’ announcement

Liam Hemsworth and longtime girlfriend Gabriella Brooks are officially engaged.
The Australian model revealed the news Friday on Instagram, sharing a black-and-white photo of herself and the Hunger Games star, embracing in their backyard.
She also gave fans a closer look at her dazzling diamond ring, which appeared in a follow-up image.
Brooks captioned the post with a simple white heart emoji, later reposting it to her Instagram Story for her more than 200,000 followers. Hemsworth has yet to share the announcement on his own social media.
The couple, who first sparked engagement rumors last month when Brooks was spotted wearing a sparkler during a yacht outing in Ibiza, have been dating since late 2019.
Their romance began shortly after Hemsworth’s divorce from singer Miley Cyrus.
Though they faced brief breakup speculation in 2022, Hemsworth and Brooks have made several red carpet appearances together in recent years, most recently at the London premieres of Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga and Limitless: Live Better Now.

Meghan Markle has granted a special permission to her husband Prince Harry following his meeting with father King Charles in Britain.
According to a report by the Reuters, Harry had tea with King Charles on Wednesday at their first meeting in 20 months, in what may prove a first step toward ending a much-publicised rift between father and son.

Harry flew into Britain on Monday for a series of engagements.
Following crucial meeting with King Charles, Prince Harry has arrived in Ukraine on a surprise visit.

Archie and Lilibet doting father also disclosed he was invited to the capital by the Ukrainian government and received permission from the British government and his wife Meghan before travelling.
