Meghan Markle spreads her wings after embracing freedom

Meghan Markle is feeling like a bird out of the cage after relocating to the US flowing her exit from the royal household.

The Duchess of Sussex, 44, has been celebrating every moment of her newfound freedom in Montecito, surrounded by her husband Prince Harry and their two beloved children Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet since  she soared into a brighter future in 2020.

Her early struggles to life inside the monarchy has been higlighted in a new royal biography.

Harry’s wife reportedly found the royal residence Nottingham Cottage on the Kensington Palace grounds deeply underwhelming. The house ws assigned to teh Sussexes after their lavish 2018 marriage.

The property, consisted of two-bedroom residence, long considered a cozy but humble space within the estate, quickly became a point of frustration for Meghan.

Royal author Tom Quinn pens that teh Duchess was highly critical of the “small” cottage, adding that she even described life at Kensington Palace as a ‘kind of prison’.

While the residence has often been praised by insiders for its privacy and proximity to Kensington High Street, Quinn notes that once the “initial glamour” of royal life “wore off”, the Duchess was left “horrified” by the daily routine of being driven to official engagements from the palace.

An insider quoted in the book adds: “Meghan realised that living there would be like living in the Russian steppe. Its remoteness made Kensington seem like the centre of the universe.”

According to the royal expert, life at Nottingham Cottage “was the beginning of all Meghan’s troubles,” adding: “She felt it was so small that it must be a reflection on how the royal family were belittling her husband.”

Menawhile, anotehr expert Ingrid Seward claimed: “I think that Meghan must have been incredibly envious and then jealous of Kate… which Harry used to call ‘my hovel.'”

Undoubtedly, Meghan does not seem to stop flying as she has remained focused on the projects she has built for herself and her family.

To live a financially independent life, she and Harry launched the nonprofit Archewell Foundation in 2020. Teh couple have signed development deals with Spotify and Netflix.

The Duchess’s lifestyle series, With Love, Meghan, in which she invites friends to a Nancy Meyers–esque California home to cook, craft, and garden with her, coincided with the launch of her brand, As Ever, which sells scented candles, preserves, flower sprinkles, and wine.

After struggling much to achive excellence, she is now pursuing a life and a career that feel authentic to her.

Kanye ‘Ye’ West trips during trial: ‘Is he asleep?’

Kanye ‘Ye’ West trips during trial: ‘Is he asleep?’

Kanye ‘Ye’ West trips during trial: ‘Is he asleep?’

Kanye “Ye” West had a turbulent day on the witness stand on Friday, repeatedly appearing to struggle to stay awake as he testified in the trial over the disastrous renovation of his former Malibu mansion.

According to Rolling Stone, who was present in the Los Angeles courtroom, the rapper “repeatedly yawned, closed his eyes for long stretches and at times seemed to catch his head falling forward” during his appearance in the second week of the trial.

The moment reached a peak when the lawyer representing the plaintiff reportedly turned away from the stand and mouthed “Is he asleep?”

The presiding judge also appeared to be in shock, asking them to ask the attorney to “make things a little snappier” with their questioning.

When asked about the work carried out on the property, Ye’s repeated answer was a simple “I don’t recall.”

The trial centres on a lawsuit brought by contractor Tony Saxon, who is suing Ye for unpaid wages, unsafe working conditions, and wrongful termination.

Saxon claims he was forced to live on the property, a striking four-bedroom, 4,000-square-foot estate in Malibu designed by celebrated Japanese architect Tadao Ando, as Ye attempted to transform it according to a series of unusual demands.

Those plans included making the property entirely self-sufficient and “off the grid,” and at one point replacing a staircase with a slide.

Saxon alleges he suffered an injury during the failed construction, was subsequently fired after raising safety concerns, and says Ye is liable for his medical bills.

The results of the renovation speak for themselves.

The Ando-designed property, which Ye purchased for $57 million in 2021, was stripped down to a bare “concrete shell”, left with no windows, doors, electricity, or plumbing.

He sold it at a staggering loss in 2024, offloading the estate for $21 million. The Saxon case is one of several legal matters Ye is set to face in court in the coming months.
