Nate Bargatze talks about his comedy style as he prepares to host Emmys: “Just do you”

Comedian Nate Bargatze sold more than 1.2 million tickets to his “The Be Funny Tour” last year, making him the highest-grossing comedian in the country. Now, he’s taking on a new challenge: Hosting the 77th Emmy Awards on CBS.

“This is the first I’m thinking about it, was this week,” the 46-year-old jokingly said about his preparation for Sunday’s show.

He described his comedy style, saying while there will be jokes about the shows, it will be done “in a way that is not mean.”

“I was like trying to think of like how, which way you want to go and it’s like … even we’ve had stuff written that I think was a little more roast stuff and then it’s like after you think about it a couple of days, I’m like ‘nah let’s go back another way.’ We have some fun stuff though that’s planned,” Bargatze told “CBS Mornings.”

The stand-up comedian has also previously hosted Saturday Night Live.

“I’m used to performing in front of live people, not an audience like this of all the people that you know. So, it will be fun to get in there, get on stage, get that first joke, hear that first laugh and then just get running and just really make your own of it.”

Bargatze said he’s honored and excited to host the awards show, saying, “you kind of dream of like hosting some kind of award show … it’s very flattering to even get asked to do it.”

As for who he’s relied on to help him prepare, Bargatze named several top comedians who gave him some tips.

“I talked to Conan about it. Everybody is just kind of like you just have to do you. It’s hard to take exact advice – but like Colbert, Fallon, I talked to Lorne Michaels a little bit about it. You just kind of take it all in … but it all comes back to like just do you. Do what you know to do,” he said.

The 77th Emmy Awards air Sunday Sept. 14 at 8 p.m. ET on CBS and streaming on Paramount+.

King Charles finds himself pleading to Camilla, Meghan to let Harry return to royal family

‘Helpless’ King Charles asks Queen Camilla, Meghan Markle to put differences aside

King Charles has reportedly pleaded to Queen Camilla and Meghan Markle to put their differences aside and let Prince Harry return to the royal family fold.

According to reports, the Duchess of Sussex has asked Harry that she would return to the UK on one condition: that Camilla is not in the same room as her.

On the other hand, the Queen also does not have a good impression of Meghan as she finds her “manipulative” and believes she is “dangerous” for King Charles’ “peace.”

Meanwhile, Charles is pleading with the women as he “craves” nothing but “peace” at the moments and is desperate to be reunited with the Duke of Sussex.

“Charles is craving peace more than anything,” a source told Radar Online. “He’s well aware the family rift is damaging the monarchy’s reputation, but Meghan’s demands have made the situation far worse.”

“Camilla refuses to yield, Meghan won’t compromise – they’re completely deadlocked,” the palace insider added.

Inside Katy Perry, Justin Trudeau ‘serious romance’

Katy Perry, Justin Trudeau ‘very much a couple’: Insider

Katy Perry and Justin Trudeau’s relationship is reportedly getting “serious.”

Following the former Canadian prime minister and the pop star’s red carpet debut as a couple, an insider close to Justin confirms their romance.

“This relationship is already fairly serious and definitely moving in that direction,” the source revealed to people.

The Canadian political source further added, “They are very much a couple and have been seeing each other as often as possible.”

Katy and Justin first sparked dating rumors after they were spotted enjoying dinner together in Montreal back in July, and then their sighting while kissing on a yacht earlier in October ignited their romance speculations.

On October 25, Justin celebrated Katy’s birthday with her in Paris seemingly confirming their romance.

Another source told the outlet recently, that while Katy was busy with her ongoing tour, Trudeau “has made a real effort to meet her where she is — literally.”

And Katy has been “flattered by Trudeau’s efforts he has been putting since day one.

“He’s shown that he’s committed and really cares about spending time with her. It’s clear that he values the connection, and so does Katy,” the source added.

It is pertinent to mention that Katy is also mom to five-year-old daughter Daisy whom she shares with ex fiance Orlando Bloom. The former partners parted ways back in June after eight years of relationship.

‘House of Dynamite’ writer pushes back on official claim

‘House of Dynamite’ writer gets candid about Pentagon memo

House of Dynamite put its viewers on edge as it portrayed how the U.S. would respond as a nuclear missile was on its way to hit it.

However, Netflix’s nuclear disaster movie does not seem to impress the Pentagon, which stated in an internal memo that the film’s portrayal of the U.S.’s defence response is incorrect.

“We respectfully disagree,” Noah Oppenheim told MSNBC’s The Weekend program. However, he acknowledges that he did not talk to the Pentagon during the movie’s preparation.

However, he shares that the team did extensive research for the film, which led them to conclude, “Unfortunately, our missile defense system is highly imperfect, and if the Pentagon wants to have a conversation about improving it.”

The screenwriter also shares, “I’m so glad the Pentagon watched, or is watching and is paying attention to it, because this is exactly the conversation we want to have.”

“Or what the next step might be in keeping all of us safer, that’s exactly the conversation we want to have. But what we show in the movie is accurate,” he notes.

“I’m not a missile defense expert. However, I did talk to many missile defense experts who were all on the record,” Noah further adds.

House of Dynamite is streaming on Netflix.
