Peter Dinklage calls ‘Roofman’ set a ‘gold mine’ for him

Peter Dinklage gets candid about latest ‘Roofman’ movie

Parts of Roofman, the new film of Peter Dinklage, are shot on the set in a Toys “R” Us store, a chain of toy stores in Canada.

The Game of Thrones alum plays a store manager, but outside of the role, he says the shooting at the site was particularly useful for him and his cast.

Explaining why, Peter says he and his co-stars Channing Tatum and Kirsten Dunst are parents, so “for all of us with children, it was a gold mine because they really filled that Toys “R” Us.”

He shares the set was a renovated, though abandoned, store, “It was an abandoned old Toys “R” Us that they renovated and made it into a present day back in the film time Toys “R” Us. And yeah, that was our wrap gift.”

The Roofman’s synopsis reads that it “follows Jeffrey Manchester (Channing Tatum), a former Army Ranger and struggling father who turns to robbing McDonald’s restaurants by cutting holes in their roofs, earning him the nickname: Roofman.”

“After escaping prison, he secretly lives inside a Toys “R” Us for six months, surviving undetected while planning his next move.”

“But when he falls for Leigh (Kirsten Dunst), a divorced mom drawn to his undeniable charm, his double life begins to unravel, setting off a compelling and suspenseful game of cat and mouse as his past closes in,” the logline said.

Roofman bows out in theatres Oct. 10.

Perry Farrell issues final apology amid Dave Navarro fight

Perry Farrell issues final apology before Jane’s Addiction split

Jane’s Addiction has officially come to an end following a public apology from frontman Perry Farrell, issued amid an ongoing legal dispute with his longtime bandmates over a violent onstage incident last year.

On Wednesday, Dec. 17, Farrell addressed the situation directly in a statement shared on Instagram, apologising after guitarist Dave Navarro accused him of assault and battery.

“I’ve reflected on it and know I didn’t handle myself the way I should have. I apologize to our patrons and my bandmates for losing my temper and for disrupting the show,” Farrell wrote in a collaborative post with the band, referring to the September 2024 concert in Boston that abruptly ended mid-performance.

Farrell went on to stress how deeply Jane’s Addiction has shaped his life, writing, “Jane’s Addiction has been at the center of my life for decades.”

He acknowledged the broader impact of the band, saying the group, its music and its fans have meant more to him “than any words [he] could ever possibly write down.”

Reflecting on the night in question, he added, “My aim has always been to give our audience the best possible show, something real, honest and positive. In Boston, we fell short of that, and I’m truly sorry to everyone who was impacted.”

He closed by thanking fans for their “continued love and support.”

Shortly after Farrell’s apology, Jane’s Addiction confirmed they are parting ways.

In a separate Instagram post, the band said they “regret” making “inaccurate statements about Perry’s mental health” and acknowledged that they “unilaterally” canceled their reunion tour after the Boston incident.

“Today we are here to announce that we have come together one last time to resolve our differences, so that the legacy of Jane’s Addiction will remain the work the four of us created together,” the statement read.

“We now look forward to the future as we embark on our separate musical and creative endeavors.”

The split follows a $10 million lawsuit filed in July 2025 by Navarro, Eric Avery and Stephen Perkins, who alleged Farrell carried out a “brutal and unprovoked” attack during the show and continued the altercation backstage.

Farrell denied “each and every allegation” in his September 2025 response and asked for the complaint to be dismissed.

The incident ultimately led to the cancellation of the band’s reunion tour, which had sold more than 100,000 tickets.

As legal proceedings continue, the band’s final message emphasized gratitude to fans, calling them “our lifeblood” and expressing pride in the music they created together.

The Portuguese footballer, 40, proposed the Argentine-Spanish model, 31, with a with a $3m (£2.2m) 30-carat engagement ring back in August following a nine-year courtship.

In an interview with ELLE Spain, Georgina joked that such a ring was the ‘least he could do’ after waiting so long to pop the question.

She said: ‘It’s gorgeous. It’s the least he could offer me after ten years of waiting (laughs). The truth is, when he proposed, it was the last thing on my mind.

‘It took me a long time to process the enormous stone he gave me. I was so shocked that I left it in my room and didn’t open it in the sunlight until the next day (laughs).’

The couple have been in a relationship since 2016 and have daughters Alana, seven, and two-year-old Bella together. Bella’s twin brother Ángel tragically died during childbirth.

Meg Ryan honors Rob Reiner and his wife Michele, praising their belief in love, fairy tales and laughter

Actress Meg Ryan paid tribute to Rob Reiner and Michele Singer Reiner on Wednesday, praising the couple for their belief in “true love, in fairy tales, and in laughter.”

Ryan starred in Reiner’s “When Harry Met Sally…,” a classic rom-com that served as her breakout role.

“Oh how we will miss this man,” Ryan said in a post on Instagram. “Thank you, Rob and Michelle, for the way you believe in true love, in fairy tales, and in laughter. Thank you for your faith in the best in people, and for your profound love of our country.”

“I have to believe that their story will not end with this impossible tragedy, that some good may come, some awareness raised,” Ryan continued. “I don’t know, but my guess is that they would want that to be hopeful and humane, to be something that brings us all to a greater understanding of one another and to some peace.”

Reiner and his wife were found dead Sunday at their home in the Brentwood neighborhood of Los Angeles. Their son Nick Reiner has been arrested on murder charges.

Ryan’s “When Harry Met Sally” co-star Billy Crystal released a joint statement with several other close friends of Reiner’s, including his childhood friend Albert Brooks. In the statement provided to The Associated Press, they said, “Rob Reiner not only was a great comic actor, he became a master story teller. … His comedic touch was beyond compare.”

“Michele and Rob Reiner devoted a great deal of their lives for the betterment of our fellow citizens,” the statement said. “They were a special force together-dynamic, unselfish and inspiring. We were their friends, and we will miss them forever.”

The happy ending of “When Harry Met Sally…” had some real-life inspiration, with Reiner saying he changed it to have the couple end up together after meeting his future wife Michele on the set of the film. The two married in 1989 and had three children together: sons Nick and Jake, and daughter Romy.

CBS celebrates Reiner’s life and life’s work through the eyes of those who knew him in “CBS News: Rob Reiner – Scenes from a Life,” a one-hour special that will be broadcast Sunday at 8:30 p.m. ET/8 p.m. PT on CBS and streaming on Paramount+.
