Royal family marks debut of ‘hidden’ member at special event

King Charles and Queen Camilla were joined by members of the royal family on Monday for the annual Chelsea Flower Show in London, and a special member made their debut.

Even though the monarch has slimmed down the monarchy and have kept the focus on the senior working members, one beloved member delighted the public for the first time.

The Duke of Kent, even 90 years of age continued to support the King, oftentimes appearing in a wheelchair or some form of support. Now, his granddaughter Lady Amelia Windsor, made her very own contribution with the first unveiling of the Boodles Palace Collection.

Dressed in a floral attire, the great-great-granddaughter of George V and Queen Mary, wore the ‘Queen Charlotte’s Cottage’ earrings and pendant, two extraordinary designs from the ‘Palace’ collection.

The environment and horticulture happen to the King’s passion. The monarch himself is fully involved in the show as he unveiled The King’s Foundation Curious Garden, a collaborative exhibit designed to inspire public interest in gardening, featuring Sir David Beckham, and TV gardener Alan Titchmarsh.

Lady Amelia is not a working member of the royal family but is considered to be the most beautiful one. Moroever, she remains low-key and pursues a modelling career of her own.

However, the 30-year-old taking on a rare royal-related project indicates that Charles has a good pick of members for duties especially as uncertainty looms around Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie.

Duchess Sophie, Prince Edward make unexpected move at Chelsea Flower Show

The Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh joined members of the royal family on the 2026 edition of the RHS Chelsea Flower Show, but chose a different style to make an entry.

King Charles and Queen Camilla were in attendance along with Princess Anne to watch the world-famous horticultural show on Monday. They all arrived in their usual vehicles, but in a footage shared by the King’s Guards, it was revealed that Sophie and Edward chose a white van instead.

While the exact reason for the choice was not explained, but it was considered an unusual choice by the couple. Some suggested that it is possible that Sophie and Edward brought a van because they were planning on bringing back some plants home.

It would not be a far-fetched thought as Sophie in particular appeared in her element for the show. Dressed in a pastel pink ensemble, the royal was seen carrying her Plants for Pollinators guide, suggesting that she may be looking to pick out some new additions for her garden.

This year, she had also joined forced with Alan Williams of Landform Consultants to design her first garden, which the Royal Family said will “sit at the heart of the Royal Windsor Flower Show” for 2026.

Sophie previously shared that she was “slightly nerve-wracked” about her display but shared that a lot of thought has gone into the design, particularly to be friendly to a range of pollinating insects and not just bees.

‘Barbie Girl’ band Aqua announces split after three decades together

Aqua announces surprise split

Aqua is taking its final bow.

Nearly three decades after Barbie Girl turned the Danish pop group into a global sensation, the band has announced it is officially ending its run as a live act. The trio — Lene Nystrøm, René Dif, Søren Rasted — shared the news with fans in an emotional Instagram post Monday, May 18, alongside a picture of their iconic logo.

“After many incredible years, we have decided to close the chapter of AQUA as a live band,” they wrote. “AQUA has been such a huge part of our lives, and together we’ve had the chance to experience more than we ever dared to dream of.”

The band added, “When you’ve been together for this long, you also learn when it’s time to protect what you’ve created together. For us, this feels like the right moment to say goodbye, while the memories are still strong, and while the love for the music, the story, and each other remains intact.”

After thanking fans for 30 years of “the love, the energy, the support, and for all the moments,” they signed off with “nothing but love and gratitude.”

Aqua exploded onto the music scene in 1997 with Barbie Girl, the bubblegum pop anthem that dominated charts worldwide and sparked controversy thanks to its cheeky lyrics. The track even prompted Barbie’s parent company Mattel to sue the band’s label in 2000, though the case was ultimately dismissed.

The group first split in 2001 before reuniting in 2007. They later enjoyed a major revival in 2023 when Nicki Minaj and Ice Spice sampled their biggest hit for Barbie World on the blockbuster Barbie soundtrack.

Jennifer Lopez gushes over ‘Off Campus’ after Mika Abdalla channels popstar

Jennifer Lopez has gushed over the new Prime Video series Off Campus after lead actress Mika Abdalla channelled the pop star’s most iconic fashion moment on screen.

The romance show became an overnight hit following its debut on Wednesday, 13 May, with its steamiest scenes quickly going viral across social media.

One particular clip that caught the eye of the 56-year-old global superstar features Abdalla’s character, Allie Hayes, recreating Lopez’s famous plunging green Versace jungle dress from the 2000 Grammys, prompting Lopez to repost the footage on X with the enthusiastic caption, “love this shooooww.”

The high-fashion moment takes place early in the series when Allie crosses paths with hockey player Dean Di Laurentis, played by Stephen Kalyn, at a Halloween party.

The legendary dress itself has quite a history in the fashion world, having first been modelled by Amber Valletta during Versace’s Spring/Summer 2000 runway show in 1999, before Lopez famously made it a cultural phenomenon at the Grammy Awards and later wore a reimagined version on the runway in 2019.

Abdalla, 26, recently took to TikTok to share the intense behind-the-scenes process required to bring the iconic outfit to life for the show.

Speaking in a clip shared by Betches UK, the actress revealed that the garment had to be built entirely from scratch, a process that required five separate fittings.

She recalled how her very first session involved putting on a nude leotard so the team could cut it up and pin the material directly to her, adding that she was so heavily taped into the finished product that she felt completely ready to dance the night away.

The actress also admitted that her own intuition told her the scene would be a massive talking point for fans, despite the fact that the Halloween storyline does not actually appear in Elle Kennedy’s original book series.

Speaking to PEOPLE, Abdalla explained that as they got closer to finishing the dress and she saw how it looked on camera during filming, she knew it was going to be a hit with the audience.

The popular new Prime Video adaptation is based on the five-book Off Campus franchise, which predominantly follows the complicated love lives of various hockey players at the fictional Briar University.
