The Asian Cycling Confederation and the Saudi Cycling Federation today officially signed the Host City Agreement

The Asian Cycling Confederation and the Saudi Cycling Federation officially signed the Host City Agreement for the 2026 Asian Road Cycling Championships, marking a new milestone for the sport in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

The signing ceremony took place in Riyadh and was officiated by Dato’ Amarjit Singh Gill, President of the Asian Cycling Confederation (ACC), and Abdul Aziz bin Ali Al-Shahrani, President of the Saudi Cycling Federation. 

The agreement formalizes Qassim City as the official host of the 2026 edition, scheduled to be held from 5 to 13
February 2026.

The event will be staged with the full support of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, underscoring its growing commitment to cycling development and enhancing its presence in international sporting events. 

The Championships will feature the Elite Men and Women, Under-23, Junior, and Para-Cycling categories, bringing together Asia’s top cyclists in a celebration of inclusivity and performance.

Dato’ Amarjit Singh Gill, ACC President & UCI Vice President expressed his confidence in Saudi Arabia’s
capability to deliver a world-class event:

“The Asian Road Cycling Championships is Asia’s premier road cycling event, and we are delighted to see the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia — through Qassim City — stepping forward to host it with full commitment and vision. 

This partnership reflects the rapid rise of cycling in the region and aligns perfectly with the ACC’s mission to expand the sport’s reach and impact across Asia.”

In addition to the championships, Saudi Cycling Federation will also host the official meetings of the Asian Cycling Confederation during the same period. The ACC Management Committee Meeting will be held on 11 February 2026, followed by the ACC Congress on 12 February 2026, both to be staged in Riyadh.

Abdul Aziz bin Ali Al-Shahrani, President of Saudi Cycling Federation, highlighted the national significance
of the occasion:

“Hosting the 2026 Asian Road Cycling Championships in Qassim is a proud moment for Saudi Arabia. It reflects our ambition to make the Kingdom a leading destination for international cycling and to inspire a new generation of Saudi cyclists through this prestigious continental event.”

The 2026 Asian Road Cycling Championships will serve as a key qualification event for upcoming international competitions and a platform to promote unity, sustainability, and healthy lifestyles across the continent.

This signing marks another historic collaboration between the ACC and Saudi Cycling Federation, reaffirming Asia’s
commitment to elevating cycling to new heights under a shared vision of excellence and inclusivity.
