Viral videos falsely link Pakistan to Bondi Beach attack
Following a recent attack at Bondi Beach, Australia, which killed 15 people, two videos began circulating on social media. One claimed that Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese blamed Pakistan for the attack and announced a visa ban on Pakistani nationals. Another purported to show Pakistanis celebrating the incident.
Both claims are false.
Claim
A six-second video shared on December 15 shows Australian PM Albanese announcing the arrest of a “Pakistani-origin terrorist” linked to the Bondi Beach attack and suspending all visas for Pakistani nationals.
Fact
This claim is false. The video’s audio has been manipulated using Artificial Intelligence. The original footage is from a press conference on August 3, 2022, three year before the Bondi Beach attack. In the 15-minute press briefing, Albanese speaks about climate change, not the attack.
The presser can be seen here
Additionally, Hiya, a deepfake detection tool, rated the online video’s audio 1 out of 100, indicating it is a deepfake. No credible Australian media outlet has reported any such announcement by the PM.
Claim
A 20-second video circulating online allegedly shows Pakistanis celebrating the Bondi Beach attack.
Fact
This claim is false. The video predates the Bondi Beach attack and has been online since 2023. It was shared by several social media users in 2023 which can be seen here and here.
Verdict: Both videos circulating online are misleading and falsely linked to the Bondi Beach attack.

Kylie Kelce wants people to ‘stay out’ of her ‘kitchen’
Kylie Kelce has some very clear feelings about strangers who feel the need to comment on her parenting, and she was not shy about sharing them.
Appearing on the Sunday Sports Club podcast on 29 March, the media personality and mother of four opened up to host Allison Kuch about what she called “unsolicited mom advice”, and admitted it triggers an “underlying anger” she finds hard to suppress.
She gave a flavour of what she means.
“Like, when people see you out with your kid, and they’re like, ‘They should have a hat on.’ I’m like, ‘You should mind your f—ing business.'”
She had a similarly sharp response ready for comments about socks.
“‘She should have socks on.’ That’s great, do you have any? Because the three pairs I brought with me, she already chucked, so you do with that what you will.”
One of her daughters, she explained, became so difficult to keep shoes on that Kylie eventually gave up entirely.
“I literally called her shoe-dini. We would lose a shoe everywhere we went. And I was like, ‘I’ve had enough. I’m not putting you in shoes anymore. F— shoes. You wear socks now.’ And that’s it.”
Anyone who dared comment on that decision got short shrift.
“I was like, ‘No, no, nobody needs it. I don’t need it. You don’t need it. You don’t need this heat. Stay out of my kitchen. I’m good.'”
When Kuch asked what kind of comment would make her want to punch someone in the face, Kylie was characteristically direct.
“Well, sometimes I have just this underlying anger when people want to give unsolicited advice, so most comments that are unwelcome advice end up with me feeling like I could fix this really quick with a punch in the face.”
She described the particular frustration of comments about taking children out in cold weather, noting that most of the time she is simply walking ten steps from the car into a Dunkin’ Donuts for what she called “sanity juice”, a coffee.
“I need you to get so far away from me that you’re actually in a different zip code,” she said.
A separate category of comments that grates on her is what she called the “just wait” remarks, things like warnings about upcoming sleep regressions or teething.
She said she tries hard not to make those kinds of comments herself, knowing they don’t always land the way they’re intended.
“There are times to make jokes with a mom, and sometimes you don’t hit it,” she said. “When people say that to me, I think it hits my eardrum in a sharp way.”
She added that she tries to give people grace, but acknowledged: “They’re hard.”
Kylie shares daughters Wyatt, 6, Elliotte, 5, Bennett, 3, and Finnley, known as Finn, with husband Jason Kelce. Finn turns one on Monday, 30 March.

Barry Manilow opens up about cancer recovery: ‘Been through hell’
Barry Manilow is opening up about the toll of his cancer recovery.
In an interview with The Times on March 29, the Copacabana singer revealed that waiting for his voice and breathing to return has been “agony,” after being forced to postpone several shows following lung cancer surgery.
“I’m not totally healed, the doctors said that it would take a while, but I have no patience and waiting is agony,” Manilow, 82, said. “I tried to sing my show, but I have not been able to make it to the end without getting so winded that I have to stop.”
The setbacks come after what was initially described as a straightforward procedure to remove a cancerous spot on his left lung, discovered during an MRI last December. The scan followed a difficult stretch of bronchitis that lasted nearly three months.
Despite avoiding further treatment, Manilow admitted the recovery has been tougher than expected. He is still unable to complete a full 90-minute set, though there are signs of progress.
“I am getting closer and the doctors say it will come back, but they say, ‘Barry, you’ve been through hell. Ease up!’ And I have never heard a doctor say that, so it must have been more difficult than I thought,” he shared.
For now, the iconic singer is taking things slow, with postponed Las Vegas residency dates and tours gradually being rescheduled as he works toward a return to the stage later this year.

Taylor Swift, Olivia Rodrigo put rumours to rest after diss, legal woes
Taylor Swift and Olivia Rodrigo publicly shut down the rumours of their longstanding feud after alleged diss tracks, and legal woes along the way.
The 36-year-old pop superstar and the GUTS hitmaker, 23, were spotted catching up at Paul McCartney’s concert on Saturday, March 28.
Rodrigo and Swift appeared deeply immersed in conversation in the fan-posted pictures on social media.
The 14-time-Grammy winner and drivers license songstress’ meet up proved to be nothing short of an event on social media as Swifties went wild over the crossover.
“GOD THANK YOU FOR BRINGING MY FAMILY BACK TOGETHER,” one fan wrote on X, while another added, “the cold war allegations have been debunked.”
A third chimed in, “Two queens coming together to maximize their joint slay.”
The musicians’ joint public appearance comes after they sparked feud speculations when rumours arose about Swift suing Rodrigo for sampling her song Cruel Summer for her hit deja vu.
Fans claimed that Rodrigo touched upon her drama with Swift in her song Vampire, however, both of them have not confirmed any such speculations and their recent outing signals a healthy bond away from the public eye.
