LeBron James faces lawsuit from fan who bought tickets expecting retirement announcement as ‘second decision’

LeBron James’ new Hennessy advertisement has resulted in a lawsuit against him.
The NBA’s all-time leading scorer announced that his “second decision” was a new signature bottle, but he teased the announcement the day before, and many thought the “decision” would be about his retirement at season’s end.
After the teaser video dropped, Andrew Garcia purchased two tickets for a Los Angeles Lakers game against the Cleveland Cavaliers — who drafted James in 2003 — for about $432 each on Ticketmaster, according to TMZ Sports.

Garcia told TMZ Sports James owes him for “fraud, deception, misrepresentation, and any and all basis of legal recovery.”
“I wouldn’t have purchased it if he wasn’t going to retire. Plain and simple,” Garcia told the outlet.
According to StubHub, the average ticket price nearly doubled from $250 to $500 following the teaser video, with sales increasing 20 times in the first hour after the announcement, mostly for the team’s final home game of the season.
A representative for James did not immediately respond to Fox News Digital’s request for comment.
In Monday’s teaser, James declared the announcement would be “the decision of all decisions,” and speculation ran rampant as he is set to begin his record-breaking 23rd NBA season soon.
Last week, the 40-year-old James did not offer much clarity about his plans for eventual retirement.

“I’m excited about the opportunity to be able to play the game that I love for another season,” James said Sept. 29. “However the journey lays out this year, I’m super invested, because I don’t know when the end is. I know it’s a lot sooner than later.”
James has hardly shown any signs of slowing down. In his age 40 season, he averaged 24.4 points, 8.2 assists and 7.8 rebounds. He posted 10 triple-doubles last season, his most since 2019-20, when he won his fourth NBA championship.
After turning 40 on Dec. 30, James averaged 25.1 points per game, the most by any player age 40 or older.

James became the first player in NBA history to play in the league at the same time as his son, Bronny James, who was drafted by the Lakers last summer. The two played 21 games together.

Angel Reese to become first professional athlete to walk in Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show

NEW YORK — Angel Reese is getting a pair of wings.
The Chicago Sky star announced on Instagram Thursday that she will be walking in the upcoming Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show on Oct. 15 in New York City. It will be the first time a professional athlete will walk the runway in the iconic fashion show.
“Stepping into a dream: From Angel to a Victoria Secret ANGEL,” the 23-year-old Reese posted on Instagram. “I’m finally getting my wings — I’ll be walking the Victoria’s Secret 2025 runway show for the first time, and it feels like destiny. Wings on, heels ready … Catch me on the runway.”
The retailer posted a video on Instagram of the announcement showing the WNBA player in a pink robe, black lingerie and white feather wings.
“Angel Reese, welcome to the runway. The first professional athlete angel…major is an understatement,” the post reads.
The lingerie show began in 2001 and took place annually for nearly two decades. Victoria’s Secret canceled the show in 2019, but brought it back last year, with Reese attending.

Eagles get blown out by Giants after running tush push play 4 straight times, inciting backlash

NEWYou can now listen to Fox News articles!
New York Giants rookie quarterback Jaxson Dart led his team to a stunning 34-17 victory of the defending Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles on Thursday night.
Meanwhile, Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts threw his first interception of the season, and prompted controversy early in the game when his team ran four straight tush push plays.
The Eagles scored their first touchdown of the game on the sequence of repetitive “tush pushes” inside New York’s 10-yard line. Referees also missed a false-start on the Eagles on one of those plays.

Prominent figures including Green Bay Packers star linebacker Micah Parsons and Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy criticized the Eagles for overusing the play on social media.
Dart overcame an injury scare in the third quarter when he had to leave the game and get checked out by the medical staff, as the Giants led by 10. But he returned on the very next drive, and then eventually led the Giants on a game-clinching touchdown drive to extend their lead to 17.

Giants rookie running back Cam Skattebo bulldozed his way into the end zone from 4 yards out and twice from the 1-yard line. Dart scampered in untouched on his 20-yard TD run and connected with Wan’Dale Robinson on a 35-yard catch-and-run to the end zone.
The rookies who each fumbled on Sunday in a turnover-heavy loss at New Orleans responded the way coach Brian Daboll expected. Dart finished 17 of 25 for 195 yards passing and 13 carries for 58 yards after getting a concussion test following a big hit, while Skattebo rushed 19 times for a career-high 98 yards.
