Main Marka-e-Haq ceremony gets underway at Pakistan Monument

A special ceremony marking the first anniversary of the Marka-e-Haq victory is being held at the Pakistan Monument in Islamabad, with the country’s top civil and military leadership attending the event.

Participants of the event include President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, and Chief of Army Staff (COAS) and Chief of Defence Forces (CDF) Field Marshal Asim Munir, among others.

Pakistan Air Force aircraft will perform an air show, while a laser show will also be held during the event being held at Shakarparian.

The event is part of the days-long celebrations being held across the country, marking Pakistan’s decisive victory over India in May last year.

On May 6-7 last year, India launched an unprovoked attack on Pakistan, following an attack on tourists in the Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

Pakistan, during the 87-hour conflict, downed eight Indian fighter jets, including French-made Rafale, and dozens of drones. The war between the two nuclear-armed nations ended on May 10 with a ceasefire agreement brokered by the US.

This is a developing story and is being updated with further details.

Peter Phillips flirts with Harriet Sperling in public eye

Peter Phillips and his fiancée Harriet Sperling looked every bit the happy couple as they stepped out at the prestigious Badminton Horse Trials on Saturday.

The son of Princess Anne and Captain Mark Phillips appeared cheerful as he strolled through the grounds of Park in Gloucestershire alongside Harriet, with the pair soaking up the atmosphere during a family day out ahead of their upcoming June 6 wedding.

They were smiling constantly as they mingled with fellow guests and enjoyed the sunshine at one of Britain’s most glamorous sporting events.

According to onlookers, the pair could hardly take their eyes off each other throughout the day.

One source described the couple as being “in their element,” happily chatting with friends, holding hands, and leaning into each other affectionately as they walked around the grounds with Peter’s daughters, Savannah and Isla.

The romantic outing comes at an especially exciting time for the couple, who are now counting down to their wedding after announcing their engagement earlier this year.

Peter and Harriet have become increasingly comfortable in the public eye together and have often been seen showing subtle but sweet displays of affection during royal and sporting appearances.

Badminton Horse Trials holds special significance for the royal family, particularly for Princess Anne and her children.

Simon Cowell regrets his ‘disgusting’ reaction to Susan Boyle on ‘BGT’

The moment from the 2009 audition was a real ‘wakeup call’ for Cowell

Simon Cowell is looking back at one of Britain’s Got Talent’s most unforgettable moments with serious regret.

Appearing on the debut episode of Celebrity Trenches on May 6, the music mogul admitted he and his fellow judges were “awful” in the way they reacted to Susan Boyle before her now-iconic 2009 audition.

“I look back and I just think, ‘my God we look so awful, horrible,’” Cowell, 66, said. “I actually don’t think we look bad enough. I think we were even worse than that and they went, ‘you look awful.’”

Cowell was referring to the visible skepticism shared between himself, Amanda Holden and Piers Morgan before Boyle stunned the audience with her powerful rendition of I Dreamed a Dream from Les Misérables.

“It was a bit of a wake up call. You can’t judge a book by its cover,” admitted Cowell. “We do look disgusting…”

The audition remains one of reality television’s most talked-about moments, catapulting Boyle to global fame almost overnight.

Boyle herself has previously spoken about the painful experience, admitting she felt deeply judged when she first stepped onto the stage. “It felt quite suffocating, almost as though I was an act in a freak show, and that hurt,” she told the Irish Mirror.

Despite the difficult start, Boyle had the last word. She finished as runner-up that season and went on to become an international sensation, with a career that has reportedly earned her an estimated £30 million.

Misse Beqiri reacts as Ryan Thomas pays tribute to late TOWIE star Jake Hall

Jake Hall’s ex-partner Misse Beqiri also reacted to the emotional pos

Jake Hall’s close pal Ryan Thomas has shared the heartfelt final messages the star sent him, just days before his tragic death at the age of 35.

Hall was reportedly found dead at the age of 35 at a holiday villa in Mallorca on Thursday, with Spanish authorities investigating claims he may have suffered a fatal head injury after crashing into a glass door.

On Friday, sources close to the ongoing probe said the worst injury Jake suffered was a chest wound caused by a shard of glass from the door he crashed into at the property in Santa Margalida in the north of the island early on Wednesday morning.

Ryan shared a lengthy post on Instagram paying tribute to Jake, where he said he was ‘in awe’ of him when they first met.

Ryan, whose fiancée Lucy Mecklenburgh is close friends with Jake’s ex Chloe Lewis, shared a video of himself and the star dressed in matching white suits as they partied together.

He wrote: ‘The moment I met Jake, I was in awe of him. I found myself gravitating towards him.

‘He was always the coolest guy in the room, he had class, charisma, this magic about him that nobody else had. Anyone who met him, even once, remembered him forever.

‘I used to ring him nearly every day reminding him how special he was and how much happiness he brought people through his music, fashion and art. Everything he touched felt effortless, but really it was genius.

‘As I write this now I can hear him laughing saying, Shut up you silly c**t.

‘For all the people that admired his talent, what mattered most to him was always his family. He idolised his dad, adored his mum, and loved his little brother more than words could ever explain. You just felt it every time he spoke about them.

‘His next chapter is written in the stars now and it’s all about River. I promise she’ll grow up surrounded by love and stories about how inspiring & powerful her daddy is.

‘You wrote this in a message to me just last week so I’m sending the same one back. I love you mate. More than you’ll ever know.’

Jake Hall’s ex-partner Misse Beqiri also reacted to the emotional post.

The Swedish model shares daughter River, eight, with the late TV personality, who shot to fame on the reality show TOWIE in 2015 and appeared in series 14 to 18.
