PCB chairman says neither he nor field marshal fears anyone – SUCH TV
Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Syed Mohsin Naqvi has said that neither he fears anybody nor Field Marshal Asim Munir. He has said that guests are always given respect. “When guests are at your home, you have to forget lots of things,” he added.
Mohsin Naqvi said the highest dignitaries of friendly countries also contacted us on this matter.
Earlier, International Cricket Council (ICC), in a statement, had said that it, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) had concluded an open, constructive and congenial dialogue.
This dialogue covered several matters, including but not limited to the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 and the broader outlook for cricket in South Asia.
While reflecting on Bangladesh cricket team’s unfortunate absence from the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, the global governing body for cricket reaffirmed BCB’s position as a valued Full Member, with a proud cricketing history and a vital role in the growth of the global game.
The ICC also reiterated its continued facilitation of growth in one of cricket’s most vibrant markets, with more than 200 million passionate fans to ensure that the national team’s non-participation in ICC Men’s T20 World Cup does not have any long-term effects on Cricket in the country.
The highlights of the dialogue set out below reflect a forward-looking alignment reached in good faith and are intended to provide clarity on the current position of the stakeholders.
They do not alter, qualify or detract from the ICC’s constitutional autonomy, governance framework or established decision-making processes, all of which remain fully applicable.
It is agreed that no financial, sporting or administrative penalty will be imposed on Bangladesh Cricket Board in relation to the current matter.
It is acknowledged that BCB retains the right to approach the Dispute Resolution Committee (DRC), should it choose to do so. This right exists under current ICC regulations and remains intact.
The ICC’s approach is guided by its principles of neutrality and fairness and reflects the shared objective of facilitative support rather than punishment.
As part of this understanding, an agreement has been reached that Bangladesh will host an ICC event prior to the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2031, subject to the usual ICC hosting processes, timelines and operational requirements.
This reflects confidence in Bangladesh’s capability as a host and reinforces the ICC’s commitment to providing meaningful hosting opportunities across its membership to develop cricket in the country.
The ICC, PCB and BCB, along with other Members, remain committed to continued dialogue, cooperation and constructive engagement in the best interests of the sport.
All stakeholders acknowledge that the spirit of this understanding is to protect the integrity of the game and preserve unity within the cricket fraternity.
ICC Chief Executive Sanjog Gupta said “Bangladesh’s absence from the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup is regrettable, but it does not alter the ICC’s enduring commitment to Bangladesh as a core cricketing nation.
Our focus continues to be on working closely with key stakeholders including BCB to ensure the sport grows sustainably in the country and that future opportunities for its players and fans are strengthened.
Bangladesh remains a priority cricket ecosystem deserving of long-term investment in its development, competitiveness and global integration, and is not defined by short-term disruptions.”
Pakistan will face South Africa in a three-match women’s T20I series, commencing today (Tuesday). This is Pakistan Women’s first tour of South Africa for a bilateral series since 2021, according to a PCB statement.
The T20Is will be staged on February 10, 13 and 16, with matches scheduled to start at 9pm Pakistan time.
Pakistan’s 15-member squad is captained by Fatima Sana, while Laura Wolvaardt will lead the home side.
In the build-up to the series, Pakistan held a week-long pre-series camp in Karachi, which included practice sessions and scenario-based matches.
The squad features two uncapped players for Pakistan, with pacer Humna Bilal and batter Saira Jabeen braced for their T20I debuts.
The series provides both sides with an opportunity to finalise preparations for the 12-team ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup, set to take place from June 12 to July 5 in England and Wales.
In head-to-head, in 24 T20I matches, South Africa have an upper hand against Pakistan, but Pakistan had swept the series by three-nil against South Africa when the two sides met in Karachi in 2023.
For Pakistan, in the current squad, in the batting department, Aliya Riaz has featured in 15 T20Is against South Africa, scoring 321 runs at a strike rate of 122.98.
In the bowling unit, left-arm spinner Sadia Iqbal has played six matches, claiming 10 wickets at an economy rate of 6.66.

SANTA CLARA, Calif. — San Francisco 49ers defensive lineman Keion White was the victim of a shooting in San Francisco early Monday morning, sustaining a bullet wound to his ankle.
According to a statement from the team, White underwent surgery Monday afternoon. His injuries are not considered to be career-threatening. The Niners said they “will provide further updates when appropriate.”
San Francisco police said they responded to a shooting at a business on the 1700 block of Mission Street at around 4:06 a.m. local time and found a victim with an apparent gunshot wound. The responding officers provided aid and called paramedics and said the victim was taken to a hospital to be treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
“A preliminary investigation revealed a verbal altercation occurred between two groups inside a business,” the San Francisco Police Department said in a statement. “The victim was injured when shots were fired by an unknown suspect.”
No arrests have been made in what is considered an open and active investigation by the SFPD’s Strategic Investigation Unit.
On Sunday, White posted photos and videos on his Instagram account of him attending Super Bowl LX at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, where he watched his former team, the Patriots, fall to the Seattle Seahawks.
The 49ers acquired him via trade on Oct. 29, sending a 2026 sixth-round pick to New England for White and a 2026 seventh-round draft selection. Including the playoffs, he appeared in 11 games for San Francisco, starting two, and he posted 16 tackles, 2.5 sacks, a fumble recovery and three tackles for loss while playing defensive end and defensive tackle.
White is the second Niner to be shot in San Francisco in the past 18 months. Wideout Ricky Pearsall was shot through the chest in a robbery attempt on Aug. 31, 2024. A teenager is awaiting trial in juvenile court in that case.
Pearsall missed the first six games of his rookie year because of the injury but recovered fully and played in 11 games that season.

As Dutch speedskater Jutta Leerdam broke an Olympic record in her gold-medal-winning run on Monday, her fiancée Jake Paul couldn’t contain his emotions.
He was crying for joy.
Paul was on his feet in the stands, bawling his eyes out as Leerdam didn’t just live up to the expectations of winning gold at the 2026 Milan Cortina games — she also broke the 1,000-meter speed skating record with a time of 1:12.31.

Leerdam broke the previous record set by teammate Femke Kok, who notched her time just moments before Leerdam’s run.
While the 27-year-old skater was brought to tears after seeing her final time, Paul was in the stands doing the same, surrounded by her family, who also couldn’t help but cry tears of joy.
This marked Leerdam’s first-ever gold medal at the Olympics and her second overall medal after winning silver in Beijing in 2022.

This one was extra special considering Leerdam’s surprising fall during the Dutch Olympic Trials, which forced her out of the race. There were talks that her spot at Milan Cortina was in doubt, but she made the Dutch team in the end.
It was the right move.

Before Leerdam’s record-breaking run, Kok raced to an impressive 1:12.59 time, which ultimately resulted in a silver medal for the Netherlands. Kok is also expected to be in contention for the gold medal in the 500-meter race later in the Games.
Rounding out the podium in the 1,000-meter sprint was Japan’s Miho Takagi, who finished third with a time of 1:13.95.
As for the Americans, Erin Jackson was in first place with a 1:15.00 time. However, as the skaters kept going, she kept falling down the list.
Brittany Bowe, Jackson’s teammate, just finished in fourth to miss out on a medal with a time of 1:14.55.

Paul, the polarizing boxer, has been no stranger to showing emotion. And while this was pure joy, he fired off a tweet that appeared angry when talking about another massive sporting event back in the States.
Paul called Super Bowl LX halftime show performer Bad Bunny a “fake citizen” ahead of the Puerto Rican’s performance at Levi’s Stadium on Sunday night. Paul took exception with Bad Bunny due to the Grammy Award-winning artist speaking out against things like U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).
“To clarify: I wasn’t calling anyone a ‘fake citizen’ because they’re from Puerto Rico. I live in Puerto Rico, and I love Puerto Rico,” Paul said in his most recent tweet, clarifying what he wrote on Sunday night. “I have used my platform to support Puerto Rico time and time again and will always do so. But if you’re publicly criticizing ICE who are doing their job and openly hating on America, I’m going to speak on it. Period. That’s the same reason I called out Hunter Hess.
