ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will undertake a visit to China from August 30 to September 4 to attend the 25th Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) Council of Heads of State Summit in Tianjin.

According to a statement issued by the Foreign Office, the premier will hold meetings with Chinese President Xi Jinping and Premier Li Qiang to discuss various aspects of bilateral cooperation.

He will also attend a military parade in Beijing, commemorating the 80th anniversary of the World’s Anti-Fascist War, alongside President Xi and other world leaders.

The prime minister is further scheduled to interact with leading Chinese businessmen and executives to enhance trade, investment, and economic ties, and address the Pakistan-China B2B Investment Conference in Beijing.

The Foreign Office said the visit is part of high-level exchanges aimed at deepening the “All Weather Strategic Cooperative Partnership,” advancing the second phase of CPEC, and maintaining regular communication on key regional and global issues.

The three-day important 25th meeting of SCO Heads of States is planned for 31 August, September 1 and 2.

This year’s summit will be the largest since the SCO was founded in 2001, a Chinese foreign ministry official said last week, calling the bloc an “important force in building a new type of international relations”.

Among the attendees at the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) summit, set to take place in the northern port city of Tianjin from August 31 to September 1, will be Russian President Vladimir Putin, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, alongside leaders from Central Asia, the Middle East, South Asia, and Southeast Asia.

The theme of this year’s meeting will be, “Upholding the Shanghai Spirit: SCO on the Move.” The annual event is likely to focus on key discussions on regional security, economic cooperation, trade and the SCO’s long-term strategic direction and way forward.

The security-focused bloc, which began as a group of six Eurasian nations, has expanded to 10 permanent members and 16 dialogue and observer countries in recent years. Its remit has also enlarged from security and counter-terrorism to economic and military cooperation.

“Talk about us, not politics,” a woman called down from a rooftop in Baghbanpura as Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairperson Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari spoke to journalists in Lahore’s inner city, briefly cutting across his remarks.

In a video of the exchange, Bilawal is seen addressing reporters, saying: “At this moment, we are standing in the inner city of Lahore, and the way things are here… if we talk about Lahore—” when a woman’s voice interrupts him: “Talk about us, not about politics.”

Bilawal pauses and turns towards the source of the voice, replying: “I shouldn’t talk about politics here, what should I talk about you? You tell me. You tell me, what should I talk about? What should I say about you?”

From the rooftop, the woman responds simply: “May Allah keep you safe.” Bilawal then closes the exchange by saying: “Thank you very much — this is exactly what I was talking about. Thank you, thank you,” before the clip ends.

The interaction took place during Bilawal’s visit to the Chaman Park area of Baghbanpura, where, according to the PPP, he had arrived to offer condolences to the family of veteran party worker Comrade Zubeida Shaheen.

He expressed sorrow to her daughters — Zahida Jafri, Shahida Jafri, Abida Jafri, Rubab Jafri and Hijab Jafri.

50 Cent gives verdict on murder allegations against Diddy

Diddy’s nemesis 50 Cent gets into rarely known details about rapper’s life

50 Cent opened up Sean Diddy Combs’ life to viewers in his documentary, Diddy: The Reckoning, and shared his opinion on the rapper’s involvement in the unsolved Tupac Shakur’s murder case.

The 50-year-old musician brought up the murder-for-hire allegations against the disgraced music mogul and noted that he doesn’t think the Last Night rapper would be charged for the case now.

“He’s already been implicated,” 50 Cent shared, adding that he cannot be investigated if the murder claims he wasn’t paid, in conversation with Us Weekly. Duane “Keefe D” Davis previously stated that Diddy had offered him $1 million to kill Shakur, back in 1996.

The Bad Boy Records founder denied the claims in 2008, and Davis was arrested in September 2023 and is scheduled for trial in 2026.

The In Da Club hitmaker documented the music mogul’s history in the Netflix documentary that he produced, and claimed that he remained truthful to his life, despite their long-ongoing feud.

“[The Reckoning] shows his full story. Puff cares a lot about legacy, everybody knows that. This doc doesn’t shy away from any part of it. The success, the trauma, the power, the contradictions … all of it. He might not like every single thing that’s said, but I think he’ll respect the scope of it. It’s honest. It’s complete,” 50 Cent told the outlet.
