ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will undertake a visit to China from August 30 to September 4 to attend the 25th Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) Council of Heads of State Summit in Tianjin.

According to a statement issued by the Foreign Office, the premier will hold meetings with Chinese President Xi Jinping and Premier Li Qiang to discuss various aspects of bilateral cooperation.

He will also attend a military parade in Beijing, commemorating the 80th anniversary of the World’s Anti-Fascist War, alongside President Xi and other world leaders.

The prime minister is further scheduled to interact with leading Chinese businessmen and executives to enhance trade, investment, and economic ties, and address the Pakistan-China B2B Investment Conference in Beijing.

The Foreign Office said the visit is part of high-level exchanges aimed at deepening the “All Weather Strategic Cooperative Partnership,” advancing the second phase of CPEC, and maintaining regular communication on key regional and global issues.

The three-day important 25th meeting of SCO Heads of States is planned for 31 August, September 1 and 2.

This year’s summit will be the largest since the SCO was founded in 2001, a Chinese foreign ministry official said last week, calling the bloc an “important force in building a new type of international relations”.

Among the attendees at the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) summit, set to take place in the northern port city of Tianjin from August 31 to September 1, will be Russian President Vladimir Putin, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, alongside leaders from Central Asia, the Middle East, South Asia, and Southeast Asia.

The theme of this year’s meeting will be, “Upholding the Shanghai Spirit: SCO on the Move.” The annual event is likely to focus on key discussions on regional security, economic cooperation, trade and the SCO’s long-term strategic direction and way forward.

The security-focused bloc, which began as a group of six Eurasian nations, has expanded to 10 permanent members and 16 dialogue and observer countries in recent years. Its remit has also enlarged from security and counter-terrorism to economic and military cooperation.

However, Lloyd’s sarcastic remark quickly drew attention online, with fans applauding her humor and echoing her criticism of what some called an “outrageous” fashion gimmick.

Kim Kardashian’s shapewear brand is known for pushing boundaries in both comfort and design, but this particular launch has sparked debate over whether it’s a clever statement or simply absurd.

Neither Skims nor Kardashian has responded to Lloyd’s post.

Vanessa Kirby, Paul Rabil welcome their first child

Vanessa Kirby has finally embraced motherhood.

The 37-year-old actress longtime partner, Paul Rabil, took to Instagram to announce the birth of their first child.

Rabil, a former professional lacrosse player, posted a series of pictures which opened with a snap of him carrying his blanket-wrapped baby close to his chest.

Another snap featured Kirby and their newly born child as the duo was lying together in bed.

The post was accompanied by a heartfelt caption, that read, “I’m learning that becoming a parent slows you down and wakes you up at the same time.”

“That I’m really grateful for everyone’s health, that I get to wake up everyday to mum’s enormous love, and that we get to have you in our lives now,” he added.

Referring to the last picture of two miniature lacrosse sticks in the carousel, Rabil concluded the caption by writing, “For your first cradle stick. It’ll hold many stories and blessings. Likely broken windows too. Balls are allowed in the house.”

He also posted the lacrosse sticks picture with a white heart emoji on his Instagram Stories.

It is pertinent to mention that Kirby and Rabil made their relationship public in November 2023 after sparking dating rumors in 2022.

Meghan Markle gets stark warning about royal title

Meghan Markle has been issued a stark warning regarding stripping of her royal title when her brother-in-law Prince William becomes King.

Writing for the Daily Beast, citing royal insiders, royal expert Tom Sykes claims Meghan and Harry will also finally have their HRHs revoked after years of tensions.

The report says, “Meghan continues to use her HRH despite being ordered not to do so by the late Queen Elizabeth II.”

The report further said the dramatic change will be effected by an executive royal order known as “letters patent.”

The fresh claims came days after Prince Andrew announced to relinquish royal title, the Duke of York after discussion with King Charles, and other ‘immediate and wider family.’

The palace releases statement on behalf of Andrew, which reads, “We have concluded the continued accusations about me distract from the work of His Majesty and the Royal Family. I have decided, as I always have, to put my duty to my family and country first. I stand by my decision five years ago to stand back from public life.

“With His Majesty’s agreement, we feel I must now go a step further. I will therefore no longer use my title or the honours which have been conferred upon me. As I have said previously, I vigorously deny the accusations against me.”
