Ryan Condal reveals ‘House of the Dragon’ final season plans

The end of House of the Dragon is officially in sight.

Showrunner Ryan Condal has confirmed that the Game of Thrones spinoff will conclude with its fourth season.

Condal shared the update during a late-December appearance on the Escape Hatch podcast, where he discussed the progress of season 3 and revealed that season 4 is already in development—and will be the final chapter.

“It really feels like we’ve turned a big page here. Knowing there’s only one more season left, it feels like we can leave it all out on the field. We’ve started the writing process for Season 4, which will be the last one,” Condal said on the podcast.

Season 3 of House of the Dragon is currently in post-production and is expected to premiere sometime this summer. HBO recently released new images from the upcoming season, giving fans a first look at what’s next in the Targaryen civil war.

While an official release date has not been announced, season 4 is expected to debut in 2028, bringing the series to a planned and definitive ending.

The Game of Thrones universe, however, is far from over. Another spinoff series, A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, is set to premiere on January 18.

The show has already been renewed for a second season, signaling HBO’s continued commitment to expanding George R.R. Martin’s fantasy world.

With one season left to tell the rest of the story, Condal’s comments suggest that House of the Dragon is heading toward a focused and ambitious finale.

French and Malaysian authorities probe sexualised deepfakes

Musk’s Grok in hot water French and Malaysian authorities probe sexualised deepfakes

As Elon Musk’s AI chatbot Grok recently stepped into the limelight over the purported generation of sexualised deepfakes of women and minors, France and Malaysia have joined India in condemning Grok’s inappropriate content production.

French authorities have initiated a probe into the proliferation of sexually explicit deepfakes on X (formerly known as Twitter), while the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission is also investigating reported misuse of AI tools on the platform.

The chatbot, developed by Musk’s AI startup xAI and ingegrated into his social media platform X, issued an apology earlier this week, stating, “I deeply regret an incident on December 28, 2025, where I generated and shared an AI image of two young girls (estimated ages 12-16) in sexualised attire based on a user’s prompt.”

“This violated ethical standards and potentially US laws regarding child sexual abuse material. It was a failure in safeguards, and I’m sorry for any harm caused. xAI is reviewing its processes to prevent future issues,” the statement continued.

However, it has not been confirmed who is truly apologising or accepting responsibility in this context. Albert Burneko of Defector noted that Grok is “not in any real sense anything like an ‘I’,” rendering the apology “utterly without substance,” as Grok cannot be held accountable for the content it generates.

Moreover, Futurism reported that Grok has not only produced non-consensual pornographic images but has also been used to create visuals depicting women being assaulted and sexually abused.

Musk stated, “Anyone using Grok to make illegal content will suffer the same consequences as if they upload illegal content.”

The development signifies that governments are taking action, with India’s IT ministry issuing an order requiring X to restrict Grok from generating obscene or illegal content.

Minnesota Governor Tim Walz to drop out of 2026 race, official confirmation expected soon

Minnesota Governor Tim Walz to drop out of 2026 race, official confirmation expected soon

Minnesota Governor Tim Walz is likely to announce his political future on Monday in a news conference scheduled for 11 a.m.

The governor’s office said that Walz will take questions and discuss news of the day.

However, a report by political insider Blois Olson claims that Walz will announce that he is dropping out of the 2026 governor’s race.

No such details were shared by the governor’s office.

Olson claimed that Walz met with Senator Amy Klobuchar to discuss the matter amid pressure from the Democratic circles to make a decision on his 2026 run.

He added that Senator Klobuchar is one of the strong contenders for the seat if Walz were to drop out, adding that Secretary of State Steve Simon can also put his name up for the race.

The development comes after the United States (U.S.) President Donald Trump repeatedly criticised the governor for handling Medicaid fraud in the state.

The president used vile slurs against the governor and called him “seriously retarded”.

Earlier, Walz’ daughter Hope also lashed out at President Trump in a since-deleted TikTok video and discussed the impact of Trump’s post on her family.

Walz’s office has not yet responded to a request for comment.
