After a slow first round at Aronimink Golf Club in Philadelphia on Thursday, pace of play was a point of emphasis at the PGA Championship on Friday.

However, when an official approached Justin Thomas and Keegan Bradley, they became animated.

Thomas, a longtime Team USA Ryder Cup member, and Bradley, last year’s United States captain, were on the fourth hole when they were approached by an official in a cart, and the conversation quickly turned into finger-pointing.

Thomas said after the round that he, Bradley and fellow USA Ryder Cupper Cameron Young, who won the Cadillac Championship earlier this month, were put on the clock, with the official telling them to pick up the pace. However, both Bradley and Thomas appeared to point at the group in front of them.

“We just didn’t really agree with it,” Thomas said, citing course conditions, high winds and tough pins. “We were behind. That wasn’t our issue… It’s just the fact that we weren’t holding up the group behind us.”

Thomas said they were caught up with the pace on the very next hole.

Thomas had a lengthy conversation with the official, while Bradley appeared to make his point short and sweet — though he was definitely not happy with the call.

It is a large PGA Championship field, with 156 golfers at the course and groups even starting their rounds on the back nine. The scores have also been rather high, with just 25 players below par at the time of publishing.

Aronimink also features a shared tee box on 1 and 10, holes 9 and 17 crossing paths, and a lengthy par-3 eighth hole that’s causing problems. Three par-3s are over 200 yards on the course, and there is also a 457-yard par 4 on the fourth.

As Chris Gotterup put it on Friday, “You’re not going to get any four-and-a-half hour rounds out here.”

Pakistan completed a clean sweep of the three-match T20I series after crushing Zimbabwe by 133 runs in the final match at National Bank Stadium, Karachi, on Friday.

Half-centuries from Saira Jabeen and captain Fatima Sana, followed by Sadia Iqbal’s three-wicket haul, propelled Pakistan to the dominant victory.

Set to chase a daunting 224-run target, the visitors could accumulate 90 before getting bowled out in 17.1 overs and thus succumbed to the whitewash defeat as the Chevrons tasted the same fate in the first two fixtures of the series.

Left-handed opener Kelis Ndhlovu waged a lone battle for Zimbabwe with a counter-punching 32 off 13 deliveries, featuring six fours and a six, and remained their top-scorer.

Besides her, Adel Zimunu (18) and Michelle Mavunga (13) could amass double figures against the disciplined Pakistan bowling attack, led by Sadia, who bagged three wickets for just 20 runs in her three overs.

Sadia was supported by fellow spinner Nashra Sandhu, who returned economical bowling figures of 2/21 in her four overs, while Tuba Hassan, Rameen Shamim and captain Fatima chipped in with one scalp apiece.

Pakistan captain Fatima Sana’s decision to bat first proved beneficial as the home side racked up 223/4 in their 20 overs.

The Green Shirts got off to a flamboyant start to their innings as their new opening pair of Muneeba Ali and Ayesha Zafar yielded 58 runs in the batting powerplay.

Lindokuhle Mabhero broke the opening partnership on the first delivery of the seventh over, dismissing Muneeba, who walked back after scoring 22 off 17 deliveries with the help of three fours.

Mabhero struck again in her next over, trapping Ayesha lbw, who made a quickfire 45 off just 28 deliveries, laced with nine fours.

Pakistan then suffered another setback to their batting expedition in the next over as all-rounder Natalia Pervaiz fell victim to Zimbabwean counterpart Beloved Biza and consequently slipped to 93/3 in 10.2 overs.

Following the back-to-back wickets, Iram Javed (29) joined Saira in the middle, and the duo stabilised Pakistan’s innings by putting together 49 runs for the fourth wicket before the former fell victim to Michelle Mavunga in the 17th over.

Saira then joined forces with captain Fatima, and the duo bolstered Pakistan’s total at the backend with a blazing 71-run partnership.

Fatima, who dominated the sensational fifth-wicket stand, top-scored for Pakistan with a swashbuckling 62 off just 19 deliveries, studded with 10 fours and two sixes, closely followed by Saira, who made 50 not out from 32 balls with the help of eight fours.

Mabhero was the standout bowler for Zimbabwe, taking two wickets for 36 runs in her four overs, while Mavunga and Biza could claim one apiece.

After the National Football League announced its inaugural Thanksgiving Eve game, a U.S. senator was not pleased.

The Green Bay Packers and Los Angeles Rams will face off in Inglewood, California, on Thanksgiving Eve, and the game is set to be broadcast exclusively on Netflix.

That, of course, requires a paid subscription, which is unacceptable for Sen. Tammy Baldwin (D-Wis.).

Baldwin last month introduced a bill that would give fans free live broadcasts of their home state’s professional sports teams. Shortly after the NFL’s announcement, she ripped them.

“As the cost of just about everything continues to rise, the NFL is once again asking Wisconsinites to spend their hard-earned money on another streaming service. Enough is enough,” Baldwin said in a statement. “My For the Fans Act would stop this exact scenario and prevent Wisconsin families from being forced to pay for Netflix just to watch the Packers play this Thanksgiving.”

Games played on other streaming sites, or even the NFL Network, have been made available to fans on local television, but Netflix remains an exception.

NFL ANNOUNCES THAT INAUGURAL THANKSGIVING EVE GAME BETWEEN PACKERS AND RAMS WILL BE STREAMED ON NETFLIX

A few years ago, the NFL realized Black Friday could be an option for fans to gather around their televisions, and it found another as hometown bars will be packed the night before the big holiday.

The NFL has dipped its toe into holidays, also becoming the new king of Christmas.

Netflix holds the rights to five NFL games in 2026, including the league’s first-ever game in Australia. The streaming service will have five regular-season games as well as the NFL Honors through 2029. It had been carrying two games on Christmas Day since 2024.

While Netflix’s push into live sports has drawn some criticism, Netflix co-CEO Ted Sarandos said the strategy is not aimed at securing full-season rights packages for any sports league.

“We’re not bidding on whole season of sports, including the NFL,” Sarandos told FOX Business Network’s “Mornings with Maria” on Tuesday. So far, Sarandos’ comments have held true with Netflix prioritizing marquee events, including Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson and the New York Yankees’ opening-day shutout of the San Francisco Giants.

However, federal scrutiny into sports fragmentation has brought the topic of live sports on streaming services to the forefront.
