The Simpsons veteran character gone for good after three decades
The Simpsons seems to have revealed the first sad news of 2026, which is the retirement of one of its beloved characters, Barry Duffman.
Duffman had been a part of the show for nearly thirty years, and his absence will surely be felt in the seasons to follow, after he bid farewell in a Severance-themed episode on Sunday, January 4.
In the parodic episode, Seperance, the Duff Beer spokesperson, revealed that his role as the company mascot has now come to an end, saying, “The Duff Corporation has retired that character forever. All the old forms of advertising are now passé. Corporate spokesmen, print ads, TV spots. Today’s kids can’t even sing the jingles.”
The viewers got a glimpse of the character later in the episode, albeit without his iconic uniform, which really hammered in the retirement.
The character made his first appearance in an episode back in 1997, titled “The City of New York vs. Homer Simpson,” and quickly became a staple on the show.
Not more than two months before Barry Duffman’s retirement, the show discontinued another beloved character, First Church Organist Alice Glick, who had been a part of the show for over 34 years.

So, does Bruno have a new love in his life? There were rumors in the past year that he had split from longtime girlfriend Jessica Caban after more than a decade together, but that was never confirmed.
While neither he nor his long-time girlfriend Jessica Caban has officially confirmed their current relationship status, the lyrical content of “I Just Might” has fueled speculation among fans that he might be single and exploring a new relationship.

The forthcoming fourth solo album is set for release on February 27, 2026, giving fans a full access into the romantic theme of his new music era.
Following the album release a world tour has already been announced, which will be performed in stadiums.
While Bruno has released hit collabs like “Die With a Smile” with Lady Gaga and “APT” with Blackpink star Rose in recent years, this marks his return to solo music.

The previous season earned multiple Emmy accolades including Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series for Wyle, and Outstanding Drama Series.
The brand-new season is back with emergencies due to ‘fireworks, alcohol-related accidents, bad judgements, celebrations gone awry’ as Wyle hinted to Entertainment Weekly in December 2025.
Ahead of season 2’s first episode aired, announcement came for the next installment of the award-winning drama.
HBO CEO Casey Bloys broke the news during the premiere in Los Angeles, January 7.
