TRENDING RUMORS
– Alexander Isak’s long-anticipated move to Liverpool looks set to be completed, according to Fabrizio Romano. Newcastle United reportedly accepted a £130m bid for the wantaway striker late on Sunday after the Magpies’ Saudi owners gave the club the green light to make the move. Brentford striker Yoane Wissa and Wolverhampton Wanderers target man Jorgen Strand Larsen are both being considered as replacements — that’s according to The Mail.
– Ademola Lookman has been trying to find a route out of Atalanta for much of the summer, and Sport Mediaset reports that Bayern Munich have seen an attempt to sign the 27-year-old on a straight loan rejected. Bayern are having to look at other options after their move for Chelsea‘s Nicolas Jackson collapsed due to an injury to Liam Delap. Atalanta are only interested in a full transfer, or a loan with the obligation to make the move permanent. Internazionale have already seen a €45 million bid rebuffed after Lookman seemed certain to be headed to San Siro. Galatasaray and Tottenham Hotspur are now being linked with late moves before Monday’s deadline.
– Newcastle are discussing a move for Roma striker Artem Dovbyk, reports The Sun. Negotiations are ongoing regarding an initial loan move for the 28-year-old that would include an option to be made permanent for a fee in the region of £30 million. After completing the blockbuster signing of Nick Woltemade from VfB Stuttgart on Saturday, Ukraine international Dovbyk would be the Magpies’ second forward signing of the summer, which would open the door to Alexander Isak potentially completing his switch to Liverpool.
– Fenerbahce have joined the race to sign Manchester City goalkeeper Ederson, reports Fabrizio Romano. They are set to challenge rivals Galatasaray for the 32-year-old, after City turned down a €10m offer from the Turkish giants. The Premier League club are willing to call time on Ederson’s eight-year spell at the Etihad Stadium, with Paris Saint-Germain and Italy international shot-stopper Gianluigi Donnarumma lined up as a replacement. According to Nicolo Schira, Donnarumma has agreed to terms on a five-year contract that will keep him at the club until the summer of 2030.
– A move for Liverpool defender Joe Gomez is being considered by AC Milan, according to Gianluca Di Marzio. The Rossoneri are reported to be keen to reinforce manager Massimiliano Allegri’s defense before the transfer window closes, but after stalling in their pursuit of Manchester City’s Manuel Akanji, they are now exploring alternatives, with Gomez, 28, one of the names on their radar. However, The Mirror reports that the Reds would have no interest in parting ways with Gomez — who is also wanted by Crystal Palace as a potential replacement for Marc Guéhi — with manager Arne Slot determined to keep hold of him due to his versatility.
– Manchester United defender Noussair Mazraoui has been added to the shortlist of Serie A side Juventus, says Gazzetta dello Sport. The 27-year-old has been identified as an alternative to Atlético Madrid‘s Nahuel Molina, and they are set to make an approach to sign him from Old Trafford on loan. Mazraoui made his first appearance of the season on Saturday when coming on as a substitute during United’s 3-2 Premier League victory over Burnley.

Cricketer Haider Ali cleared in UK alleged rape case – SUCH TV

Pakistani international batter Haider Ali has been cleared in an alleged rape case after Greater Manchester Police determined there was not enough evidence against him to back up the allegations by a British-Pakistani girl.
Greater Manchester Police and the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) sources said that the case against Ali has been closed due to insufficient evidence to support the allegations.
Ali was represented by criminal law expert Barrister Moeen Khan.
The batter had been under investigation after a British-Pakistani woman accused him of raping her at a Manchester hotel. Police received the report on August 4 and arrested the 24-year-old cricketer the same day.
The woman told police she first met Ali on July 23, 2025, at a Manchester hotel where the alleged incident took place. She said they met again on August 1 in Ashford, about four hours by train from Manchester.
She filed her complaint four days later — around two weeks after the first meeting.
Police sources said that Ali is now free to leave the country. He has already collected his passport from the police station and can travel from the UK at any time of his choosing.
During his police interview, Ali denied the rape allegation. He told investigators that he knew the woman well and that they were friends, adding that the accusation came as a shock to him.
Ali was arrested at the Spitfire County Cricket Ground in Kent, from the players’ canteen, and taken to Canterbury Police Station by Kent Police officers.
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) had said Ali was provisionally suspended for the duration of the criminal investigation.
Ali has represented Pakistan in 35 T20 internationals since making his debut in 2020, as well as two one-day internationals.

Neves reveals Jota tattoo as Portugal honour star

Rúben Neves has revealed a tattoo on his left leg in honour of his late friend Diogo Jota during a Portugal training session.
The Al Hilal midfielder is currently preparing with his national team for upcoming World Cup qualifiers against Armenia and Hungary.
It came during Portugal’s first training camp since the passing of Jota, who died alongside his brother André Silva in a car crash on July 3 in Spain.

The image inked on Neves’ calf shows him embracing Jota, who is wearing his “Diogo J.” jersey, with the No. 21.
Neves, who had played with Jota for Portugal and at Porto and Wolves, was a close friend of the Liverpool forward.
He served as one of Jota’s pallbearers on the day of his funeral, just hours after competing with Al Hilal at the FIFA Club World Cup in the United States.
A ceremony was held by the Portuguese Football Federation (FPF) on Tuesday evening to honour Jota and former FC Porto captain Jorge Costa, who died aged 53 on Aug. 5 after suffering a cardiac arrest.
Portugal’s full 23-man squad, including captain Cristiano Ronaldo, attended the ceremony, and it was Neves, who will now wear the No. 21 for Portugal previously worn by Jota, that spoke on behalf of his teammates.
“I and the entire national team team will do everything we can to keep Diogo here with us, on our team,” Neves said. “Thank you, Jorge, and Diogo. Forever in our hearts.”
Jota’s wife, Rute Cardoso, and his parents were at the ceremony and were presented with a special medal.
Bronze-framed jerseys engraved with Jota’s name and his No. 21 and that of Costa’s No. 2 were also unveiled in the FPF headquarters.
“As a century-old institution, the Portuguese Football Federation lives by its history,” FPF president Pedro Proença said.
“And it has an obligation to honor those who built it. Men like Diogo Jota and Jorge Costa, who loved football. Who loved their country. Who loved their national team. Men who defended, with courage and dedication, the colours of our flag.”
Jota earned 49 international caps for Portugal, during which he won the UEFA Nations League in 2019 and again this summer, scoring 14 goals.
