Celebrities, cricketers mourn flood devastation in northern Pakistan
Celebrities and cricketers expressed grief over the devastation caused by floods in northern Pakistan, urging the public and authorities to step up relief efforts for affected people.
At least 344 people lost their lives in 48 hours as floods, landslides, and rain-related incidents, according to the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA). with rescue operations underway in the affected areas.
In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa alone, 328 people perished and dozens were left injured, while Gilgit Baltistan (GB) recorded 12 deaths and Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) 11 fatalities.
Authorities fear that the toll may rise further as search operations continue in severely impacted areas, as severe floods and landslides in districts including Buner, Swat, Mansehra, Bajaur, and Batagram have destroyed homes, shops, and infrastructure.
“Today, our land weeps,” wrote singer Asim Azhar on Instagram to express his sorrow over the loss of precious lives.
“The floods have taken homes, dreams, and precious lives in Pakistan. My heart aches for every mother, father, child, and soul affected.”
“In moments like these, we must become one, one nation, one heart, one hand reaching out to another. Please keep them in your prayers, and if you are able, extend your support to trusted relief efforts.”
“Together, we can help heal what has been broken,” said Azhar, and appealed to the public to come forward and help those in need.
Renowned model and actor Nadia Hussain also wrote: “Ya Allah! Please save our country from more disasters.”

Justin Timberlake legally attacks Long Island over driving footage
Justin Timberlake is taking legal action to prevent the release of bodycam footage from his drunk driving arrest, suing the Long Island village of Sag Harbor in an attempt to block the video from becoming public.
Court documents obtained by Page Six on Monday show the SexyBack singer has filed a petition in Suffolk County Supreme Court seeking an order to stop the footage from being released.
The recording was captured by officers during Timberlake’s traffic stop and arrest in June 2024.
In the filing, Timberlake, 45, argues that the video depicts him “in an acutely vulnerable state during a roadside encounter with law enforcement” and that it contains “intimate details” of his “physical appearance, demeanor, speech, and conduct” during his field sobriety test, arrest, and subsequent confinement.
Timberlake was arrested on 18th June 2024 after allegedly running a stop sign and swerving between lanes while driving his BMW following a night out with friends.
The responding officer, reportedly so new to the job that he didn’t recognise the Grammy-winning artist, alleged that Timberlake failed his field sobriety tests and showed signs of poor balance and an inability to follow instructions.
He ultimately pleaded guilty to the lesser, non-criminal charge of driving while ability impaired by alcohol, avoiding a full DWI conviction.
He was ordered to complete 25 hours of community service, pay a $500 fine plus a $260 surcharge, and had his New York driver’s licence suspended for 90 days.

Jennifer Garner reflects on filming movie right after child birth
Jennifer Garner has opened up about one of the most challenging days of her career, returning to work on Dallas Buyers Club just weeks after giving birth to her third child.
Speaking to Hits Radio’s My Life in Movies YouTube series, the actress, 53, recalled the intensity of filming the Oscar-nominated drama, which was shot in just 21 days shortly after she welcomed son Samuel with Ben Affleck in 2012.
The pace left almost no room to breathe, and for a feeding mother, that presented a very specific and painful problem.
“I was nursing, and we were shooting. It was the first day, and around bedtime for my baby, all of a sudden, my [body] exploded,” she said.
On other productions there had always been a natural window, a camera turnaround, a brief pause, where she could slip away. On this one, there was nothing. “I couldn’t on that film,” she said simply.
The emotion of it all caught up with her on set. Leaving her newborn was already hard, and the physical discomfort tipped her over the edge.
“That third kid, leaving him was so hard, and I was a disaster. And I start crying, and I can’t stop crying. I’m not supposed to be crying. And Matthew said, ‘What is going on with you?'” she recalled.
When she explained what she needed but didn’t want to slow production down, McConaughey didn’t hesitate.
“He said, ‘Guys, I need a minute.’ And he said, ‘Go and just do what you need to do.’ And so the rest of that film, every time I needed to pump [he would break].”
The gesture meant a great deal to Garner, particularly given what McConaughey and co-star Jared Leto were putting their own bodies through at the time, both were on extreme diets to lose weight for their respective roles.

Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs gets out of prison early
Sean “Diddy” Combs is set to be released from prison earlier than expected, with his release date moved forward by roughly six weeks as he continues to appeal his four-year sentence.
According to a report by Page Six, the Federal Bureau of Prisons has updated Combs’ release date from 4th June 2028 to 25th April 2028.
The change follows his acceptance into the Residential Drug Abuse Program (RDAP) in November, which can result in a reduced sentence for participants who engage fully.
It has not been a straightforward road to that earlier date.
Combs’ sentence had actually been lengthened in November 2025, pushed out from 8th May 2028 to 4th June 2028, after he allegedly violated multiple prison rules.
He was also accused of participating in a three-way phone call, which is prohibited in the facility.
The music mogul, who has been held at Fort Dix Federal Correctional Institute in New Jersey since his arrest in September 2024, is also fighting his conviction through the courts.
In December, his lawyers filed an appeal demanding either his immediate release, a reversal of the conviction, or a reduced sentence.
The appeal argued that prosecutors failed to prove their case and that the sentencing judge imposed terms that violated his constitutional rights.
Prosecutors filed their opposition to the appeal in February.
Combs was charged with racketeering conspiracy, sex trafficking by force, fraud or coercion, and transportation to engage in prostitution.
Following a two-month trial, he was found guilty on two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution and acquitted on the remaining charges.
