China to boost openness in fiscal policy over next five years



China will place greater emphasis on openness and shared benefits in its fiscal policy over the next five years, enabling countries worldwide to share in its development opportunities, as said by Finance Minister Lan Fo’an on March 22, 2026.

Speaking at the China Development Forum 2026 in Beijing, Lan said that against a backdrop of subdued global economic momentum, China would pursue a proactive fiscal policy at home while strengthening international financial cooperation to inject greater stability and positive momentum into the global economy.

China will place greater emphasis on openness and shared benefits in its fiscal policy over the next five years, Finance Minister Lan Fo’an said on March 22, 2026, at the China Development Forum in Beijing.
The country will pursue proactive domestic measures while expanding international financial cooperation to support global stability and inclusive growth.

Lan noted that China will deepen bilateral and multilateral financial cooperation and work to improve global economic governance. The country will collaborate with partners through financial and economic channels to address global challenges and deliver more tangible outcomes.

He also emphasised that China will continue fostering a more fair, transparent and non-discriminatory business environment so that all market participants, including foreign enterprises, can compete on a level playing field.

The China Development Forum 2026, held from March 22–23, is themed “China in Its 15th Five-Year Plan Period: Advancing High-Quality Development and Creating New Opportunities Together,” and serves as a platform for dialogue between Chinese policymakers and global business leaders.

H&M continues its expansion in India with the launch of its 69th store in the country and 8th store in Bengaluru. Open at Orion Mall, Rajajinagar, the new store further strengthens the brand’s presence in one of India’s most dynamic fashion-forward cities.

Spanning over 7,500 sq. ft, the store offers a seamless shopping experience featuring extensive collections across womenswear, menswear and H&M Beauty under one roof. As part of the opening, the store will feature the latest fashion collection that showcases effortless elegance with relaxed tailoring and soft, easy textures. Anchored in a warm palette of neutrals, the collection is refreshed with shades of green, crisp pops of white, and rich brown suede accents coming together for a modern, elevated look.

H&M has opened its 69th store in India and 8th in Bengaluru at Orion Mall.
Spanning over 7,500 sq ft, the outlet offers womenswear, menswear and beauty collections.
The store launch highlights the brand’s continued expansion in India, featuring a new collection defined by relaxed tailoring, soft textures and a neutral palette accented with green, white and brown suede tones.

SGS Philippines recently hosted the Philippine Society for Quality’s (PSQ) inaugural Ugnayan Benchmarking session at the SGS Academy in Makati. City. Themed “Social Sustainability Towards Developing Responsible Business,” the event brought together nominated PSQ members and industry practitioners to explore the transformative potential of FSSC 24000 — the internationally recognized framework for Social Management Systems (SMS) — as a strategic tool for embedding social responsibility into organizational operations.

FSSC 24000: Building social management systems

The primary focus of the session was an in-depth review of FSSC 24000, presented by Ante Batinic, Technical Manager for Social Sustainability at the Foundation FSSC. Mr. Batinic explained the basics of Social Management Systems (SMS), guiding participants through how organizations can systematically identify, manage, and continuously improve their social performance throughout the value chain.

SGS Philippines hosted PSQ’s inaugural Ugnayan session in Makati, highlighting FSSC 24000 as a framework for Social Management Systems.
Through expert sessions and workshops, participants explored SMS implementation, ESG integration, compliance readiness, and tools like living wage analysis to strengthen social sustainability across value chains.

SGS experts facilitated interactive workshops on SMS Readiness Compliance and Living Wage Analysis to provide participants with practical tools for implementation. Insights on social factors within Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) frameworks were discussed in relation to FSSC 24000 certification.
