  • Quetta LG polls to be held on December 28, 2025: ECP.
  • Says peaceful and uninterrupted polling must be ensured.
  • ECP member warns harsh winter may reduce voter turnout.

ISLAMABAD: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Wednesday rejected Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfaraz Bugti’s petition to postpone local government elections in Quetta.

Bugti filed the petition on Monday, citing the deteriorating law and order situation in the provincial capital and the suspension of internet services as reasons for postponing the local government elections in Quetta.

In its written order today, the ECP said that the polls will be held as per the previously announced schedule.

The Election Commission stated that polling in Quetta district will take place on December 28, 2025, saying that all institutions must assist in accordance with the Constitution.

“Every possible support must be extended to the bodies assigned the responsibility of conducting elections in Quetta,” the ECP said. It also directed that foolproof security arrangements be made to ensure the safety of voters, candidates, the public, and polling staff.

“Peaceful polling in Quetta must be ensured without interruption,” the ECP order read.

However, ECP member Shah Muhammad noted in a dissenting note that harsh winter conditions could reduce voter turnout. He highlighted that people often migrate to other districts during the winter season.

Fergie reassures King Charles over threatening move: ‘Will never do that’

Sarah Ferguson sends positive message to King Charles amid bombshell buzz

King Charles must have taken a sigh of relief after he received a positive update from Sarah Ferguson amid her threatening move talks.

The year 2025 turned Fergie’s world upside down after her private email to the convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein leaked in the media, in which she addressed him as her ‘supreme’ friend.

Though in a statement, Sarah’s team clarified that she ‘deeply regrets’ sending a message to the paedophile financier, and it was done under fear.

However, it was too late, and the damage was already done. From personal to professional setbacks, Fergie dived into controversies alongside her ex-partner Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor.

After losing all the royal perks, questions were raised on how the former Duchess of York maintain her lifestyle.

Will she write a bombshell memoir or appear in an explosive tell-all interview to disgrace the royals? Fans keep making theories.

But a royal expert shared good news with the King and the royal family.

Richard Palmer wrote in The i Paper that Sarah has no plans to publicly attack the royals as she remains ‘loyal’ to them.

“She would never do anything like that. When has she ever written a tell-all book or threatened to do anything like that? That’s not Sarah,” he shared.

Prince William, Kate Middleton’s concerns for Prince Louis: ‘day will come’

Prince William, Kate Middleton’s concerns for Prince Louis: ‘day will come’

Prince William and Kate Middleton are doting parents to their three children and have long established how much they prioritise them.

The Prince and Princess of Wales have also not shied away from breaking several royal protocols and traditions for the well-being of Prince George, 12, Princess Charlotte, 10, and Prince Louis, 7, and made their own.

The children are well-loved by the public and fans are always eager to see the young royals during royal events, especially at the balcony. As the eldest Wales child, George, is ready for the next phase in his royal heritage, William and Kate have lingering concerns for their youngest.

Prince Louis is known for his cheeky antics that have captured the hearts of the fans and is dubbed, ‘cute’ for being unable to maintain the poise that his elder siblings so easily carry.

Sources have revealed that William and Kate “are easier on Louis because he’s the baby of the family” but they fear one day will come when he would have to grow out of it.

According to the insider, the parents do their “best to teach him how to behave, but understand these events are tiresome” and Louis is “quite a handful”. The source told OK! magazine that William and Kate “don’t want to break his little spirit”.

The source claimed that William and Kate are like any other parents who are much more lenient towards the youngest. However, they are well-aware that “the day will come and making faces won’t be ‘cute.’ Hopefully, Louis will grow out of it”.

There has been a notable change though as Louis is getting older. Recently, he joined his family on Friday to mark the Together At Christmas Concert, helmed by Princess Kate.

He was seen obediently following with his siblings; and while he no longer made faces, he still garnered adoration from the onlookers.
