Prince Harry struggles to fit in, fears losing Meghan Markle over balding insecurities
Prince Harry’s ongoing battle with hair loss is affecting his marriage to Meghan Markle, with sources claiming it has become a significant source of insecurity for the Duke of Sussex.
According to Radar Online, Harry has been struggling with male-pattern baldness for over a decade and has turned to treatments like finasteride and minoxidil despite their potential side effects.
Speaking with the publication, friend of the Duke shared that Harry’s obsession with preserving his hair has impacted his intimacy with Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex.
They described Harry and Meghan relationship as more “collegial” than romantic since the birth of their second child, Princess Lilibet.
“Harry is very self-conscious about his hair. He’s been using a mix of treatments for a while now,” the source said. “He knows there are potential side effects, but the truth is, it doesn’t really matter to him anymore.”
The insider further reflected on Harry joking about “not wanting to go bald” as his brother Prince William but “now the joke’s on him.”
“He’s become obsessed with keeping what’s left, even if the meds mess with his hormones,” they added.
“People close to him say he’s trading off his manhood for vanity – but at this point, it’s about control. His appearance is one of the few things he still feels he can manage.”
Another friend of Harry shared that a major factor contributing to his baldness is the environment as he has been “struggling to fit in, and he hates being reminded that he’s aging. “
“For Harry, losing his hair feels like losing control – and he’s already lost so much,” they continued.
“They barely touch. Harry still loves Meghan, but the spark is gone. Whether the meds make a difference or not, the bedroom door’s been closed for a long time.”
