French sportswear brand Salomon has expanded its U.S. footprint with the opening of a new retail location in Chicago’s Bucktown neighborhood.
Located at 1630 N Damen Ave, the Bucktown store officially opens on Wednesday and offers an extensive selection of Salomon’s sportstyle and performance products. Designed with distinct zones to highlight Salomon’s dual focus on performance and sportstyle, the store also features a community hub complete with a pop-up coffee bar and lounge.
Situated near the popular 606 trail, the store is expected to become a hub for Chicago’s outdoor and running communities.
“Bucktown is more than just a store — it’s a physical expression of Salomon’s belief in community and the joy of movement,” said Jenny Taylor, VP of marketing.
“Whether it’s a morning jog, braving a Chicago snowstorm, or heading out with friends, our goal is to meet people where they are with performance and style that works for their everyday lives.”
The opening underscores Salomon’s growing presence in North America. The new store marks the brand’s first Midwest store and second standalone U.S. shop, following the October 2024 debut of Salomon’s SoHo flagship in New York.
Earlier this year, Salomon named Nick Parkinson as its new global brand creative director. He joined the company from Nike Inc., where he has held various creative leadership roles over a 15-year tenure.
