Travis Kelce says “I still get giddy” as he opens up about engagement to Taylor Swift on New Heights podcast

After getting engaged to Taylor Swift last month, Travis Kelce spoke about it for the first time on his New Heights podcast that dropped Wednesday.

Kelce said the word “fiancé” hits different for him now.

“It’s been really fun telling everybody who I’m going to be spending the rest of my life with,” Kelce told his brother, former Philadelphia Eagles center Jason Kelce, on the podcast.

Swift and Kelce have dominated the spotlight since they began dating two years ago.

“It’s been so much fun hearing from everybody, seeing the internet go crazy,” he said.

The Kansas City Chiefs tight end and Swift watched his alma mater, the Cincinnati Bearcats, just days after announcing the proposal on social media.

“I felt that at the game, it was my first time introducing Taylor as my fiancé to a few of my teammates – so yeah, it was pretty cool,” Kelce said. “I still get giddy … It’s exciting times.”

Engagement details

The couple announced their engagement on Aug. 26, which was 13 days after Swift appeared on the New Heights podcast and revealed her upcoming album, “The Life of a Showgirl.”

Kelce’s dad, Ed, told News 5 Cleveland that the two got engaged roughly two weeks prior to the social media announcement.

Kelce proposed to Swift at his Missouri home. Photos from the proposal show a garden filled with pink and white flowers.

A representative for Swift said Kindred Lubeck designed the engagement ring.

Super Bowl speculation

Fans think this season may be Swift’s year to shine at the Super Bowl as the halftime performer.

NFL commissioner Roger Goodell did not rule out the possibility on Wednesday.

“I can’t tell you anything about it,” Goodell said. “We would always love to have Taylor play. She is a special, special talent, and obviously she would be welcome at any time.”

No performer has been announced yet for the Super Bowl LX halftime show.

Swift is expected to be in Brazil this weekend to cheer on Kelce and the Chiefs during their season opener against the Los Angeles Chargers.

Mike Tyson and Floyd Mayweather agree to a 2026 fight. Here’s what we know — and don’t know.

Mike Tyson and Floyd Mayweather agree to a 2026 fight. Here’s what we know — and don’t know.

The boxing world was hit with a big announcement on Thursday night when former heavyweight champion Mike Tyson and former multi-division champion Floyd Mayweather said they agreed to a bout to be held in the spring of 2026.

Details on a date, location, television partner and any potential professional sanctioning of the bout were not immediately released, though both Hall-of-Fame boxers appeared excited about the fight in a press release distributed by CSI Sports.

“I still can’t believe Floyd wants to really do this,” Tyson said in the release. “It’s going to be detrimental to his health, but he wants to do it, so it’s signed and it’s happening!”

“I’ve been doing this for 30 years and there hasn’t been a single fighter that can tarnish my legacy,” Mayweather said. “You already know that if I am going to do something, it’s going to be big and it’s going to be legendary. I’m the best in the business of boxing. This exhibition will give the fans what they want.”

While Mayweather noted that the bout would be an exhibition, meaning it wouldn’t be sanctioned by an athletic commission or count toward either fighter’s professional record, this was not confirmed by the fight promoters. But the sanctioning of the bout is just one of multiple outstanding questions surrounding this clash between two of the biggest names in boxing history. Below, we’ll break down a few others.

Will it be a professional, sanctioned bout?

This is arguably the biggest question surrounding the bout but it’s unlikely to be professionally sanctioned, despite the fact that Tyson just fought his first professional fight in 19 years when he lost to Jake Paul last November. Mayweather has had multiple exhibition bouts since retiring in 2017 following a knockout win against Conor McGregor. But he hasn’t fought professionally since then, when he left the ring with a perfect 50-0 record. Mayweather indicated that the fight with Tyson will be an exhibition but he did not immediately respond to a CBS News request for further comment.

What weight class would the fight be held in?

This will largely depend on whether the bout is professional or an exhibition. If it’s the former, then the boxers will need to agree on a weight limit that they would both be held to. But if it’s an exhibition, which seems to be the case, it’s likely that both boxers will enter the ring around the weight they last fought at. That means Mayweather would be around the middleweight limit, while Tyson is likely to be around the 220-pound range he often fought at as a champion in the 1980s and 1990s. Tyson tipped the scales at 230 pounds for his fight with Paul 10 months ago.

Would the fight be held under non-standard rules?

Whether it’s a pro fight or an exhibition, there may be other, non-standardized rules in play here. Tyson is 59 years old. Mayweather is 48 years old. Boxers in that age range, when they do enter the ring, tend to perform under different rules and regulations. When Tyson fought Paul last fall, for example, the length of the rounds was reduced to two minutes from the standard three. And it was limited to an eight-round fight, when it normally would have been 10 for a non-championship affair. Both boxers also wore heavier gloves in the bout than is the norm, which is likely to be the case for a Tyson-Mayweather affair, too.

Is this a new trend in boxing?

Boxing exhibitions featuring retired champions is nothing new to the sport. Mayweather and former foe Manny Pacquiao have done so multiple times in recent years. While it may not be a boxing purist’s preference, it’s not unusual.

What is a bit unique, however, is that this will be Tyson’s third fight in approximately six years, after retiring from the sport in 2005. He fought an exhibition against former champion Roy Jones, Jr. in 2020 and Paul last November. Paul, meanwhile, who boxed Tyson as a heavyweight, appears to be moving on to his own exhibition fight against former lightweight champion Gervonta Davis, in an another match between boxers in wildly different weight classes. That fight was announced for Nov. 14.

Jessica Chastain reaches new heights with major milestone

Jessica Chastain gets emotional in Hollywood Walk of Fame

Jessica Chastain, who is famous for her Oscar winning performance in The Eyes of Tammy Faye, and other acclaimed performances in Zero Dark Thirty, The Help, and Intersteller, has reached new heights of success as she was honored with her star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

On September 4, the Hollywood actress showed gratitude for the support that she has received from her family and pals in her speech.

Sharing that she managed to fulfil her ambition, the IT Chapter 2 actress began, “My grandmother took me. It was the first time I realised it was a job that people could have, and after watching it, I was like, ‘Oh, I’m an actor.’”

Recalling her initial career journey, she continued, “I felt it really young. Even though I dropped out of high school and went back and got my diploma later on, I was voted ‘Most Talented’ in our yearbook. So very early on, I was getting feedback that it was something I was good at, and that helped a lot.”

“It’s something I think is really important for actors to learn, and it was such an example in that scenario, that one person’s opinion isn’t everyone else’s,” the American actress gave advice to new actors.

“All of a sudden, I started from nothing to get leads, and it was because people went to see that play — and they thought I did a good job,” she said while admitting that 2013’s Salomé was the turning point of the career, the 48-year-old actress.

Before concluding, Jessica Chastain shared, I’m excited to play characters that are really complex, where I’m OK if someone leaves my film and goes, ‘I’m not sure I liked it.’ I want to push people a little bit outside their comfort zone.”

Ryan Reynolds and Colin Hanks premiere ‘John Candy’ documentary

Ryan Reynolds turned heads on Thursday evening as he hit the red carpet at the Toronto International Film Festival for the world premiere of John Candy: I Like Me.

The 48-year-old Deadpool star, who produced the film, was joined by director Colin Hanks, son of Tom Hanks, for the star-studded debut.

Reynolds looked stylish in a brown corduroy suit layered over a vintage Canada T-shirt, completing the look with brown-and-white loafers.

According to Daily Mail, he was accompanied by his mother, Tammy Reynolds, who flashed a smile in a black-and-white polka dot ensemble paired with silver platform shoes.

Moreover, Colin Hanks revealed a different appearance from his usual clean-cut image, sporting a bushy salt-and-pepper beard, slim frame, and retro browline glasses.

He opted for a navy suit and gray button-down shirt for the premiere.

Eugene Levy, a longtime collaborator of Candy’s, was also in attendance, lending support to the tribute.

Speaking to the TIFF audience, Hanks said the Canadian premiere was a natural choice, “We had numerous conversations with various people about where would the dream place be to premiere this movie, and the truth is the answer resides in the lyrics of John’s favorite song: Oh Canada, Our Home and Native Land.”

Reynolds paid tribute to Candy, who died in 1994, calling him “the greatest, most beautiful man that I never met,” adding, “I’ve been obsessed with him for a very long time. My goddamn suit is covered in John tonight.”

The documentary, acquired by Amazon Prime Video, was made with the support of Candy’s widow, Rosemary Margaret Hobor, and their children, Jennifer and Chris.

It features never-before-seen home videos, family archives, and interviews, offering a rare glimpse into Candy’s life off-screen.
