Zach Bryan slams Kid Rock’s Turning Point USA Halftime Show
Zach Bryan has sparked fresh debate around Super Bowl halftime politics after publicly criticising Kid Rock’s alternative show organised by Turning Point USA, calling it “embarrassing” and “cringe” before deleting the posts.
The country singer shared his reaction shortly after the 2026 Apple Music Super Bowl LX Halftime Show on Sunday, Feb. 8, which was headlined by Bad Bunny.
While the official halftime performance aired, Turning Point USA promoted its own All-American Halftime Show, led by Kid Rock.
Bryan, 29, mocked the idea in a now-deleted Instagram Story, posting a snap of someone watching Kid Rock’s performance on a phone while physically blocking Bad Bunny’s show on screen.
“What kid rock actually thinks is happening across America,” Bryan wrote over the picture, according to a screenshot later shared on X.
The post quickly drew backlash.
In a follow-up Story, also later deleted, Bryan shared a direct message he received from a social media user accusing him of selling out.
“You were my favorite artist. Now you are nothing but another dumba– out of touch elitist,” the message read.
Bryan responded bluntly, making his stance clear regardless of political alignment.
“I don’t care what side you’re on, a bunch of adults throwing temper tantrums and their own halftime show is embarrassing as hell and the most cringe s— on the planet,” he wrote over the screenshot.
Turning Point USA had advertised its event as a “family-friendly, values-driven” alternative aimed at viewers looking for “uplifting, patriotic entertainment.”
Kid Rock, a vocal supporter of Donald Trump, performed alongside country artists Lee Brice, Brantley Gilbert and Gabby Barrett.
The performance later drew criticism of its own, with viewers accusing Kid Rock of lip-syncing during Bawitdaba from his Devil Without a Cause album.
The 55-year-old musician, born Robert James Ritchie, addressed the claims during a Feb. 10 appearance on Fox News’ The Ingraham Angle.
“It was out of sync,” Kid Rock said, rejecting the accusation. He added that if the performance had been pre-recorded, “It would’ve been super easy to sync it up if it was prerecorded.”
Explaining further, he said, “I’m jumping around the stage like a rabid monkey, rapping my song, and I’m taking breaths, and my DJ is filling in the other parts of it… I even told them when I saw the rough cut, I was like, ‘You guys got to work on that sync. It’s off.’”
He later described it as a technical issue, saying production had tried to fix it but found it difficult.
Bryan was not the only artist to weigh in after the Super Bowl.
Kacey Musgraves also praised Bad Bunny’s halftime performance while taking a pointed swipe at Kid Rock.
“Well. That made me feel more proudly American than anything Kid Rock has ever done,” she wrote on X.
While Bryan has since removed his posts, the reaction highlights how this year’s Super Bowl halftime programming extended beyond music, reigniting conversations about politics, patriotism and how artists choose to respond when entertainment and ideology collide.

Ariana Grande shares hilarious idea for her biopic
Ariana Grande has made it clear that if a film about her life ever happens, it won’t be anything like a traditional Hollywood biopic.
Speaking to Backstage in a light-hearted video interview shared on Instagram on 9 February, the Wicked star admitted she isn’t keen on the idea of a standard retelling of her life story.
In fact, she joked that such a project should be titled Scrap This and Don’t Watch It.”
Still, she couldn’t resist pitching one very specific, tongue-in-cheek concept.
“A tiny mouse with subtitles the whole time,” Ariana joked when asked who should play her. “I would like that, actually.”
She went on to explain that the only version she’d consider would be “a tiny, beautiful short film with mice reenacting my whole life with little, tiny subtitles at the bottom,” adding that it’s the only approach she finds appealing.
While the 32-year-old singer and actress is clearly not rushing towards a biopic, she has been reflecting having officially said goodbye to Wicked and her role as Glinda.
She told Backstage that it feels right to place the experience “in a beautiful book on the shelf next to the other L. Frank Baum books that I collect,” saying it’s time to “turn the page and to thankfully and proudly, gratefully let go.”
The role marked a return to acting for Grande after a long break.
Now, with Oz behind her, Grande says she’s still processing everything she’s achieved.
Despite the effort and preparation she put in, the moment still feels surreal. “I know I did the work so that they could,” she said, “but I still feel as curious and inspired as…the first day I got here.”
For now, any on-screen version of Ariana Grande’s life appears safely confined to her imagination — preferably starring a mouse, complete with subtitles.

Why Cher never reported her teenage assault at a friend’s home
Cher has shared a painful memory from her teenage years in her new memoir, speaking about it now with a calm mindset than before.
The music legend writes that the incident happened when she was just 17 years old and still very young in life.
At that time, she was in a relationship with Sonny Bono, whom she got married later in October 27, 1964.
On this one very quiet evening, while Sonny was busy working and was away, Cher stayed over at friend’s apartment.
The night stay at her old pal’s house became very scary for her that it left her shaken and with a deep impact on her life which she never talked about before.
In her book, Cher explained that she woke up feeling unsafe and confused while she quickly ran to her friend for help.
“A few hours later I was aware of somebody lying next to me with their hand in my underpants. Half-asleep, I thought I was home and then suddenly remembered that I wasn’t.
It was dark and all I could see was the outline of a man. Frozen, I lay there, my heart racing, until he moved slightly away.”
Her friend reacted right away and made sure that Cher was protected. The fear, however, from that night stayed with her long after it was over.
The I Got You Babe singer also talked about why she never told Sonny about what happened back then, writing: “It took me the rest of the night to calm down and I didn’t dare breathe a word to Sonny for fear he’d murder the guy.”
The music icon shared that writing her memoir gave her the strength to finally speak about things she which kept quiet for many years.
Cher also got real about how young she was at that time when this terrifying incident happened and how difficult it was to talk about.
